Thunderbird Club

Haven't played the bird for a while ( it had developed an annoying metallic ring ), so stripped it back and gave it a proper set-up.
The ring was the shells of the Thunderbucker Ranch p'ups vibrating so made some better mounting spacers ( from closed cell foam ) and solved it.
May bring the ol' girl back into circulation for some upcoming gigs.

Glad you have sorted the issue. Rock On!

To my American friends posting today...

What are you doing here? Those steaks won't eat themselves, nor will the beers drink themselves! Get on with it! ;):D

No action in my neck of the woods.
Might watch the fireworks from the pier here. It was mobbed 2 years ago when I last watched them.
I could crash someone’s barbecue….

We're currently experiencing natural fireworks(thunderstorms)which may wipeout the other fireworks, neither of which thrill my cat. She's not that thrilled when I play my Thunder-bird either.

We're getting started here in about 2 hours, shall I expect you, Jeff?

We have vodka and make a respectable Moscow Mule, perfect sunny afternoon drink.

Same thing we’re having at the GBass house. Frozen margaritas at cocktail hour, followed by chips and home made salsa as an appetizer, then the main course of grilled Santa Maria style Tri-tip with a side of refried beans covered in jalapeño cheese and a side of Mexican rice. Grilled peaches over French vanilla ice cream drizzled in amaretto for dessert and a warm tawny port or Kentucky bourbon on the rocks afterwards while we settle down for a movie.

Any suggestions on a good movie to watch on the 4th? I’m not big on musicals, so Yankee Doodle Dandy is out. The wife isn’t keen on sci-fi, so Independence Day is out. Just saw Blazing Saddles on TV last night. Maybe a WWII flick or a Epic like Gone With the Wind. Open to suggestions.

Battle of the Bulge!

Battle of the Bulge!

Both great suggestions! I haven’t seen Patton in years and the wife is a George C. Scott fan. Battle of the Bulge, The Great Escape, Kelly’s Heroes, Bridge over the River Kwai and The Guns of Navarrone are all on my short list.

Yes indeed! Kelly’s Heroes. I forgot about that one. But all are great choices! Don’t forget the Dirty Dozen too!

I am in a hamburger and beer stupor right now. We mixed garlic powder into the ground beef and then wrapped half pound patties with two strips of bacon. And smoked 'em on the grill. Sheep cheese on top just before they came off. Add an ear of sweet corn cooked in its husk on the grill and my wife and I are both fat and happy. I could barely hold one beer after eating all that hamburger and bacon. No watermelon. Sorry.

Patton is George C. Scott's best role ever, he played the part so very well and the movie is quite accurate with many moments being directly taken from his memories. My fave scene in the movies is when he walks with some of his soldiers slogging along in the snow during the Battle of the Bulge.........The soundtrack is brilliant as well.
