I moved to CA in '90 from (hot/cold) Chicago so for the first couple of years living here I was able to cope with the moderate weather. Once acclimated I was just like everyone around me and I err on the side of being overdressed. Easier to unzip a jacket if warmer than expected than to be too cold and not have a jacket or sweater.
So it rarely gets hot in SF (near 90)?

The hottest it's ever been in SF was 103 degrees which occurred on June 14, 2000 and July 17, 1988. I was visiting SF for the 1st time on that July 17th/'88 day. Last summer it got pretty hot for a week or two, and with the fires up north clogging the air with smoke it was pretty uncomfortable. Two weeks ago it got really hot for a couple days but maybe around 90. Having lived on the coast (Pacifica) for 17 years - it may get hot for a few days but if it's really hot inland (and it does get very hot there) the fog gets sucked in to cool things off. Also, it always cools down at night.

rarely....one of the things I really dig about it....feels like a northeastern city lots of the time, remember it sits on a little skinny peninsula between the massive SF bay and the Pacific which has no warm current like the Gulfstream.....for temperatures over 90 in CA you generally have to head inland towards the Central Valley and the desert..

That’s normally how it works, except for that heat wave we just had. I didn’t look at Seattle minimums, but our nighttime low was around 24(75).

 Interesting. It's 90 here at the house and feels like 95+ with the humidity. Miserable outside. Not uncommon around here at all. Unfortunately it often gets worse and is like FL without the Ocean breeze. We are in the Ohio Valley and often get no air movement to speak of so things just linger.

Cool! Literally in this case.

I’m contemplating putting SIT Power Steels on this one. RS66s didn’t have enough bottom end (or maybe too much too end)

I never use Google translate, it’s always horribly inaccurate.

That's an understatement! In fact, for laughs, I sometimes translate a Russian forum dialect with Google. And end up with hilarious moments like this....

I made a series of them, but no one found them as funny as I do. In fact, I had a Russian co-worker who un-friended me on Facebook after I posted them. I think she felt I was mocking her language, which wasn't the point.

I'll just post a couple more. Sometimes they don't come out horribly strange - but still make you giggle:

I mean, I can't make this stuff up! It's just Russian to English. What can be a riot is when there's a heated argument in Russian. Name calling... swear words... etc. The translation typically comes out Biblical sounding.

Yeah, early today was quite cool at 57 and lots of clouds in off the Pacific, now at 1:35 it's sunny and 72, probably top out at about 79 - very typical early Summer in Seattle - Love it!

Thunderbird weather!

Sometimes, a person whose primary language isn't English, makes an attempt at posting in English. And who knows, maybe used Google in the process. Then they post a Mea Culpa, in English, such as this:

Others have done the YouTube comment collecting before me - but I found a few of them myself. I called the series Pretty Self Explaining, as that phrase itself was one of the things I found. (I have a friend who asked "Why is that weird?" ...so I told her it ought to be Pretty Self Explanatory... and she goes "So are you gonna tell me or not?")
