What no 4449?

Being a child of the Diesel Age steam doesn't hold the same fascination for me, and while I have seen a fair number of them operating IRL I much prefer diesels like this EMD GP30, which at this point in time is more rare than a steam engine.

I like steam engines, but there's something about a diesel. Especially one that says, "Rio Grande".

Lest we digress, let's have a Non Reverse kind of morning........My Inverness Green one seems to be on the near horizon.

"We're gonna have a good time. Freak out!"

 Interesting. It's 90 here at the house and feels like 95+ with the humidity. Miserable outside. Not uncommon around here at all. Unfortunately it often gets worse and is like FL without the Ocean breeze. We are in the Ohio Valley and often get no air movement to speak of so things just linger.

Add a few degrees and you get Augusta and Atlanta most summers. I do not miss that AT ALL. My Thunderbirds claim they wil leave me if I move back east - not that I need reasons to stay here.

That's an understatement! In fact, for laughs, I sometimes translate a Russian forum dialect with Google. And end up with hilarious moments like this....

I made a series of them, but no one found them as funny as I do. In fact, I had a Russian co-worker who un-friended me on Facebook after I posted them. I think she felt I was mocking her language, which wasn't the point.

I dunno, man, that sounds like most of the translated Russian I used to hear from communist propaganda in the 60s and 70s.

I use Eric Translate for Russian. My son in law was a Russian linguist with the military.

And let us not forget the immortal words of jembozzo - who put it succinctly:

Why would you ever want to leave...!

At the risk of sounding like I'm fawning, you are a k!ck@ss bass player, sir. Covers or originals, your timing is awesome.
I know what you mean. Kills it. Chuck is my new idol. Don't need no Geddy stinkin' Lee when we have Chuck right here south of the border.

Joining in on the @Chucky Stiletti fan club. His older sound clips from the lost files era as well as his newer videos all showcase how tight he plays with the band, never walking over or hiding behind the other members and always displaying impeccable timing. Not sure if he’s classically trained or self taught, but he’s an awesome player - and as best I can tell, a damn good person as well. Take a bow Chuck, applause are coming your way.
