Thunderbird Club

Well, the ocean/sea-level rise will certainly re-develop the coast in Pacifica and in Florida and all that 'beach front' property will be underwater. (and sooner than any realtor will want to admit)
Oh, they'll admit it it. Right after they buy their own private mountaintop.

Gary Larson is brilliant. Everything he did about dogs and dinosaurs was hilarious.

And he made a contribution to science. The Thagomizer was named for Thag Simmons.

My favorite Larson:

That's something Mark would know.., but not I.
Yeah, it's a bit obscure unless you're a ferroequinologist.*
There are certain numbers that correspond to famous/favorite locomotives that when seen, conjure up that image/memory. Usually, but not limited to, restored, operational steam engines. 759 or 765: Nickle Plate Road 2-8-4's; 1218: Norfolk and Western 2-6-6-4; 4014: Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy.
These are/were steam engines that have absolutely nothing to do with Thunderbirds, BTW.

Say that fast three times in a row...

So if BC is getting California’s weather, what’s California getting?
Drier.
Where I live in SoCal we’ve only had about 3 inches of rain so far this year and we won’t get back to the rainy season until Jan/Feb of 2022. Not overly hot, just comfortably warm and super low humidity. Good time to restring the birds and oil those fretboards.

The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco
-- Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)

No joke. I spent a few days visiting my brother in Livermore, July 2016. We went to San Fran and did all the touristy stuff and explored downtown Livermore. Quaint.

It was never hot like you get in the Midwest around the 4th of July and after the sun set, it was downright cold where shorts and t-shirts were not a good choice. He had an inground pool that no one used and a beautiful stone patio with a propane fire table/heater. We mostly stayed indoors.
