 Ooh! Chrome! Yeah!
One day, back in the early 90's, while laying over at the TA(?)in South Atlanta, I turned on the CB to see if there was anything interesting. Some guy was selling parts off a company Mack before he quit the job. He had a 1/2 windshield he was trying to unload. Some other voice came on and asked "Is it chrome?"
I could just picture everybody on the channel busting out laughing.

I know GBassNorth swears by the Fenders, so much so he's convinced me enough that they will be in a future string purchase. I'm a GHS Boomer fan on many things and Thunderbirds are one of them. Big, fat and punchy. When you try the Fender's--I'm interested in your take on them.
I run 7250s on my Fender PJ. They're fine for it. I mostly play that bass as my P with rounds with the J pickup off.

Yes they do!! I bought the burst one to refinish in Lake Placid Blue. After Mrs Gator saw the finish work on the Bird she said "No way"...and she was right.

I was planning to redo the burst in red, but same thing when Sharon saw it. But the plain TB pales in comparison, so it will get refinned. Some day.

Would a chrome windshield go for more or less money?

I'm still loving the 2015 T-bird that I received yesterday, but I can't help but wonder what it would look like with chrome or nickel pickup covers. Since the 2015 model has the unique EB exposed-pole humbuckers - does anyone know if Thunderbird chrome or nickel covers will fit the humbuckers?
I would not do that to this specific Thunderbird, much as I love chrome pickups you'd likely lose something by doing it to those specifically. It just means you'll have to own another = perhaps sometime soon.

Put on the Fender 7250’s for soundcheck. I get the appeal. More ‘polite’ than a lot of rounds I normally, but that ain’t always a bad thing. Would be great to tame a bass that’s maybe too grindy/growly for certain gigs. Super even and clear sounding though. I kinda like em so far, but the gig will be the real test :)

If you want chrome, consider putting in your order for one of these:

It would be a perfect compliment to your '15.
