Hey, Mark? Is the Bemo's show still on for tonight? I was thinking about making the drive to come check you guys out.

Its on! Never played there on a Thursday, so I hope folks show up. We typically pack it on the weekends

@dukeorock ...and if you're in Bay City, will there be any TBird action tonight?

I brought the ‘02 Gibson with Lollars as a matter of fact :)

I figured Thunderbird Thursday would be a good time for a bit of my favorite (favourite) color :smug:
(even if the picture itself is a bit...boring  )
I absolutely LOVE the Red/Black. If I end up getting my broken neck fixed I'll probably go a similar route. I like red/black so much I did this to my motorcycle.

Unrelated... I finally made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month. It was AMAZING to stand in the middle of all that history; I had full-on goosebumps and am pretty sure I properly embarrassed my family members running like a nitwit from exhibit to exhibit. ;)

Took a picture with Cliff Burton's bass and another of Bootsy Collins' bass.

Some thoughts on strings (again)

Cobalt flats (45-105) are too high tension for some of my basses, so I tried the 45-100 on my Fano. The tension is much closer to a typical 45-105 set, which is nice. I do feel the 100 E string is shyer in the lows, which depending on your rig could be a good thing. On my Fano through my rig, it’s not such a good thing. Not terrible, but not great. I have another set I’m tempted to try a set on the ‘bird, which is a deeper sounding bass than the Fano.

Forgot to order more rounds, so when we stopped at a GC the selection was limited and I grabbed a set of Fender 7250’s and some EB Regular Slinky 50-105 because I haven’t tried either in quite some time. For sure gonna change strings before tonight’s gig, just not sure which strings I’ll try :)

Prolly one of the sets you bought.;)

I hope so too but this is the extent of their advertising on Facebook. You'd think they'd post a week before, a couple of days before, day before and day of... but nope.

My kids' band, Katalyst is unlisted on that calendar as the opening act for the 17th but they're listed on the printed flyers from the non-Bemo's affiliated promoters that advertise their shows a ton.

Whether there's 20, 50 or 100, I'll be there.

I know GBassNorth swears by the Fenders, so much so he's convinced me enough that they will be in a future string purchase. I'm a GHS Boomer fan on many things and Thunderbirds are one of them. Big, fat and punchy. When you try the Fender's--I'm interested in your take on them.

Nice!

That poster is great! I have a new favorite band name; Venomous Lemon!

Previous faves include Safari Hat, Betty Kilder and Kat Box, and yes, one or two of those were bands I played with.

Might I suggest a white 'Bird logo on the red PG? Easily found online, you could tape it on to see what you think. If ya don't like it on the PG, you could put it on yer car.
