I can’t believe how expensive these things are getting. Seems like just a couple of years ago you’d be able to catch one like this for a bit over $2000, apparently not anymore.

That's absurd.

@dagrev
BTW - did I mention I’m really liking the Boomers on my 1990 Greco IV. They’ve more than proven themselves on the bottom end, and since I have a tendency to EQ on the dark side they fit that bill nicely.

What was surprising is that today I was doing some chord work and needed a piano clear top end along with a tight defined not muddy bottom end and a present but not over powering mid range. I was specifically looking for a lot of texture and feel with each note, something that would be very responsive to subtle right hand finger changes. With the Greco tone knob set on 8 and the neck pup soloed the boomers nailed it. Turns out these strings aren’t one trick pony’s, much more range than I thought they’d have. I’m very pleased with them. Thanks again for suggesting the boomers.

OK, Boomers.

on TalkBass while on the course? whoa! says a lot!
Just got a birdie on the 11th hole, sitting at three over par right now. Looking forward to getting home and back with the Greco working on chords. In the meantime, trying hard to avoid sand traps, no sand wedge in the bag for this competition.

I think Gene played one for like 15 minutes... Jackie maybe even less.
For a whole generation of bassists, Nikki IS Thunderbird.

Which kinda put me off buying one for many years, but Mike Watt and Alex Hacke put me back on :)
Now I rarely play anything else

Almost playing it up as high as Courtney Audain...

That was in a very complex art rock band I was in at the time. Within a year or so, the bass started dropping down a whole bunch :)

That looks beautiful!
