Thunderbird Club

I took the '15 out to play last night. It sounds fantastic with tapes on it. It's hard to decide which one I like the best - the Flamingo, the pixie dust '01, or the '15. They are all just a little different. Once the Flamingo has a bass x-tender on the E string, it will be set up the same as the others as far as all the little bits. Not to mention finally putting Thunderbuckers into it.

Got my NR T Bird today. 1st impressions are that the pickups are pretty hot, and the tone control is very wide. Sounds great! This color is the Inverness green. I was thinking it would be a brighter pastel color, but it's a more muted.
I had to setup the neck. The rod was pretty much all the way slack w very high action. After cranking it a good bit I was able to get it playable.
Neck is chunky. Feels like a baseball bat, which I dig.
It's not too heavy. Probably around 9 pounds. Balances good on a strap.

I like that it has clovers. That's a good detail. Did you swap the locations of the tone knob and output or did it arrive like that?

Simply beautiful. Congrats on the New Bird Day! If you’re not already a member of the club here you should join.
I’m really torn between the green and the blue, wish I could see them side by side.

Congrats! In-line knobs! Who did you order it from?

You know the only logical choice is get all three. Then you'll ll be covered for whatever your mood is.
LOL - you might be on to something there. Red in bone stock, Green with the pots in a row, and blue with a bridge cover and hard tail added. :D

:cool:I clearly have a problem (lots of them actually) and obviously need to set up a go-fund-me site to help fund my addiction rehab. Of course, like many rehab plans, there’s a tapering off period before complete cessation. :(

o_OI figure that tapering off process will require about 4 or 5 more birds, then I’m done, unless of course I fall off the wagon. And if I do, I’m sure I can count on this support group to guide me in the right direction.:help:

Right. '12-'13 reissue it's at the bottom. A lot of players move them. I kept mine stock. I like the look both ways. I think the offset tone knob is more ergonomic though, if that makes sense.
My recollection is that it’s easier to see the tone knob numbers in the off set position if you have a bridge cover. I personally like the looks of them offset vs inline.
