Omg yes take them off the bass lol

Yes remove the parts from the bass! To age the covers put about half a inch of muratic acid in a Tupperware tub then put a smaller open tub with the parts in it inside the tub with the acid and put the top on the larger tub. Check every 8-12 house till the desired results.
Oh, the problem is that I'm thinking tuners, bridge, etc. Lots of moving parts that I don't think are supposed to deal well with this kind of thing. I'm sure I'll just leave it alone and let it naturally age.

I've done tuners, it works well enough, honestly I need to get the muratic acid to the chemical recycling center it's a pita to store.

Even with the cap on tight it attacks whatever is around it.
will it burn skin?

I've been contemplating some covers for my new Non Reverse, even before it's arrival, especially for the bridge, possibly the pickup too, came across these in my search.......... I should have known that they'd be available from the Man himself. Thank you Scott @godofthunder59 !

I don't think I would ever put the covers back on my '64, but when I see them on other's basses it always looks great, especially when shiny. All that shiny chrome...what's not to love? Snazzy!

what’s muratic acid anyway? any one know of other uses?
Aka Hydrochloric acid. Used to lower alkaline levels in pools to balance PH. Also used to acid wash pool plaster. Available around $3 to $4 a gallon at Lowes, Home Depot and any pool supply store. Very caustic. It's amazing it's still sold in California.

Maybe next year for a VP, but I'm happy with my 2013 CP.
Thanks to all you enablers.
