Oh, the problem is that I'm thinking tuners, bridge, etc. Lots of moving parts that I don't think are supposed to deal well with this kind of thing. I'm sure I'll just leave it alone and let it naturally age.Omg yes take them off the bass lol
Yes remove the parts from the bass! To age the covers put about half a inch of muratic acid in a Tupperware tub then put a smaller open tub with the parts in it inside the tub with the acid and put the top on the larger tub. Check every 8-12 house till the desired results.
I've done tuners, it works well enough, honestly I need to get the muratic acid to the chemical recycling center it's a pita to store.Oh, the problem is that I'm thinking tuners, bridge, etc. Lots of moving parts that I don't think are supposed to deal well with this kind of thing. Good to know. I thought stuff like tuners or bridges would get frozen in place or something.I've done tuners, it works well enough, honestly I need to get the muratic acid to the chemical recycling center it's a pita to store.
If you go to far with it they could freeze up.Good to know. I thought stuff like tuners or bridges would get frozen in place or something.

Even with the cap on tight it attacks whatever is around it.
Yes! Highly corrosive. Use PPE, gloves, goggles, cartridge respirator.will it burn skin?
Oof. I'm in a NYC apartment. I think I'll pass.Yes! Highly corrosive. Use PPE, gloves, goggles, cartridge respirator.
More Thunderbird pics are always better, right? Front, back sides, the more the better!!What else are you looking for?Later on the BC Rich is going in its case and this one is going up on the wall. Three hangers, three Thunderbirds.

I don't think I would ever put the covers back on my '64, but when I see them on other's basses it always looks great, especially when shiny. All that shiny chrome...what's not to love? Snazzy!I've been contemplating some covers for my new Non Reverse, even before it's arrival, especially for the bridge, possibly the pickup too, came across these in my search.......... I should have known that they'd be available from the Man himself. Thank you Scott @godofthunder59 !

Which is another way to wreck metal. Drop it into a cola for a couple of days.Muriatic acid is less toxic than diet coke
Aka Hydrochloric acid. Used to lower alkaline levels in pools to balance PH. Also used to acid wash pool plaster. Available around $3 to $4 a gallon at Lowes, Home Depot and any pool supply store. Very caustic. It's amazing it's still sold in California.what’s muratic acid anyway? any one know of other uses?
ever consider selling them?I don't think I would ever put the covers back on my '64, but when I see them on other's basses it always looks great, especially when shiny. All that shiny chrome...what's not to love? Snazzy!

MygodImakesomanytypos...I listened to a song my band error with my raw bass track on it- Epi CP through a SansAmp DI. Yep, that's why Thunderbirds. I really did this bass.
Maybe next year for a VP, but I'm happy with my 2013 CP.
