I'm honestly surprised that there's isn't more damage to the front of that bass. It takes a heck of a hit to that bridge post screw to dent in mahogany like that. Must've been a direct hit too.

That's one of the bridge mount screws. It looks like someone attempted to tighten it down. Note the slight damage in the slot. ~1/2 price might be worth it, assuming it could be fixed-by Gibson.

No matter how it happened, they should send it back to Gibson saying it was received in that condition. Selling it as new would be fraud. Not to be confused with Fred, which is soaking my area.

I have a Gamma P bass, which is pretty nice. I got a PM from a fella awhile back who seemed to have had some bad experiences with the company and claimed he wasn’t the only one, but I wouldn’t know

The only Epi that was a disappointment was the previous Goth that I got for $125 thinking I could fix the neck. I couldn't. After a lot of effort. So away it went.

As for tonewoods, the current Goth, the LE Custom Shop Silverburst and the VP are all mahogany. I don't know about the Pelham Blue LE Custom Shop. I can't tell from the control cavity and it plays so perfectly with low action I'm not about to pop the neck to find out.

Epi fanboy here.

They are taking off 20 bucks, if I still wanted it. I asked what the return policy is, and they said I can still return it. I told them to send me a picture before I agree to taking it. It might be nothing much, but I might just say forget it and just take the burgundy. We will see.

Not sure what any potential hassle might be returning a scratch and dent model. I also think 20 bucks isn't much of a discount on what should be a brand new bass, but I'll see what the pics look like.

What are your thoughts?

It means the red one chose you and beat up the blue one for trying to get in the way of true love. You have clearly been chosen by that specific one.
