After my old old old P90 died, I picked up a “Script” P90, which I also loved. When I was consolidating my board, I added a Source Audio C4 and went down that rabbit hole.

That pedal kicked off my MXR Script 90, my EBS Octobass, and my EHX Micro Synth.

The C4 does a great job as a Phaser, and you can really dial-in authentic P90 or better phase-shifting. Only down-side is a somewhat steep learning curve, and the need for a midi switch to access all the presets you’ve created (or copied from the community).

There’s a great/helpful club of Source Audio enablers on TB, too. :thumbsup:

Playing the Redbird a bit tonight (this morning? :thumbsdown: ), really love the way it sounds BEAD, so nice :cool:

Quick update. Guitar Center just called me from a Virginia store telling me the blue one is lightly damaged, saying there's a finish crack under the bridge. They are taking off 20 bucks, if I still wanted it. I asked what the return policy is, and they said I can still return it. I told them to send me a picture before I agree to taking it. It might be nothing much, but I might just say forget it and just take the burgundy. We will see.

Not sure what any potential hassle might be returning a scratch and dent model. I also think 20 bucks isn't much of a discount on what should be a brand new bass, but I'll see what the pics look like.

What are your thoughts?

$20? That's a joke... shoot, $200 wouldn't be good enough if it's noticeable from more than a few feet away.

I'd just go for the red, and not worry about the blue :thumbsup:



But, I may be biased....:whistle:

Yeah, when I was basically like “20?!”, he goes “well it’s really small…”

I just said send me a pic. They did already give me 10% off on each bass, but still. I’m trying to be polite, but I agree, 20 is ridiculous.

He seemed slightly annoyed that I wanted a pic, and was asking if the scratch/crack was potentially a dealbreaker. Of course it is!

We all have our biases! ;)

I think you may be right. I’ll see how the pic looks, but I may just forget it spring for the red. When I asked which of the two ones I ordered was damaged, I was more “relieved” that it was the blue one, if that makes sense. So deep down it may be the red is the answer.
