Good news!I had my surgery follow up today!
TL;DR
Expecting a positive outcome. Now I need my new Thunderbird
The longer story
The 5lb plaster boxing glove is off. I finally got to see the surgical wound. I washed my hand which relieved the persistent itching! And stitches are out.
I now embark on the rehab. There is still a fair bit of swelling. This week is passive flexion (no extension yet) and I have a new, light weight removable splint to maintain the partial flexion when I am not doing the rehab. But no more showering with a bag on my hand!
In terms of surgical outcome, results were excellent. But the reality of any orthopaedic surgery is that long term results are directly correlated to following rehab.
For those who would like to see pictures of the surgical scar with and without stitches - you're sick!
Now the race is on: can I complete enough rehab to play my new Thunderbird when it comes in?

The only Tats I have.....
Lest anyone be offended, this is an Iron Cross, still in use today in Germany (I'm very German) taken from a Nikki Sixx Mk.I that I used to own - Not that other cross!
Too cool that wifey poo chose a Tbird tat! Says a lot about how much she admires you and your interests.
So, you gonna repay the compliment and get roller derby tat?

I've always loved the look of tats, especially the tribal type like @JJR58 has. I guess the body art kinda reminds me of custom pin striping on a hot rod.
Only three for me, atm.
But as with most things, I have ideas
When I was in high school my parents made it clear, come home with a tattoo and you're officially outta the house. Then after I moved out and got married my first wife made it clear, come home with a tattoo and we're officially divorced. Then after divorcing her and finding a new and improved wife, wifey #2 made it clear, come home with a tattoo and you'll be looking for a third wife.
So, here I sit, admiring others tattoos and thinking someday, maybe I might just get me one of those, but I gotta out live my second wife first. It's the only ultimatum she's ever given me, since she puts up with all my other crap I'm good with it.

I spent some time contemplating surgery + 2 weeks in the plaster boxing glove + 6 weeks of rehab vs. never being able to play a Thunderbird again. 8 weeks is a small price for a lifetime of enjoyment (ahem?).
The scar however looks like a serious suicide attempt...
I'll have to come up with a good story around the scar. It'll probably start with "Well she came at me with a knife when I suggested she use moisturizer a bit more frequently..."

I have one. Got it at "Sailor Jerry's" in Honolulu while our ship was at Pearl. Designed it myself, he suggested some shading which looks pretty good. After getting the tattoo, I got semi-smashed. (I know, bass-ackwards.)
New 'flip' phone doesn't allow me to upload pics like the old one did. You ain't missing much anyway.

I drove a 66 for a (legitimate) drug distributor. Really convenient having the engine next to you.
