Still waiting for my NR to show up, I may have shifted on the color and go with the Burgundy. Honestly I sould have grabbed the first faded Pelham Blue one that showed up at the HOG.
In the meantime I am finding other ways to fritter away my money. This 70's Aria EB3 copy followed me home from the HOG yesterday. I gave it a good setup plays great, nice low action. Pickups are very usable, the bridge unit is very strong. Lots of fun for little dough, won't intonate for a damn though. On my Mann Dan Armstrong copy, I was able to replace that same bridge with a Hipshot 2 point replacement. I just had to install inserts into the existing holes - the ones that look like they should have inserts in them.

Thanks for the advice but I probably won't put the time or money into it. I have several Gibson EB3s and EB0s. I bought this bass for fun, no real need to make it a workable bass. Fun to sit on the couch with

The new NR neck is beefy, like way bigger than a Reverse, I'm find that I have the bass at a different height as I play it more.

I'd heard that the new NR necks were gonna be 'beefier' a while back. That-and the cost-had sent me looking at the possibility of getting a 2021 Epi Embassy PRO($400 is a lot less than $1800.*). But those seem to be unavailable now and I just found out I'm about to be spending some $ I don't have on an electrical problem here at mi casa.

And I forgot to mention that Mark is as great in person as he is online. I had hoped to blow off work today and see tonight's show, but the pesky eating regularly and sleeping inside habits got in the way. One evening is better than none!

Many quirks to amplification! It can be tricky to get an upright to sound decent at higher volume. If you do get one, feel free to PM me and maybe I can be of some help with a couple tips/tricks to getting a loud upright thing going.
Old Kay uprights can be awesome! I've had several over the years. The upright I've been touring with for quite awhile is a Blast Cult. Super nice basses for live work. They're not quite as resonant as a typical upright, so they're easier to amplify. They are pretty spendy though :/

Maybe you could find somebody to make a better bridge for you.

You get bonus points for that one and for being first.

So after a little tinkering I just tried shifting the one piece saddle at a angle, it still anchored in the channel a bit on the bass side, string tension seems to keep it in place. I'll play it some see if it stays put.
