I think it matters who made the blend pot, I have been using bournes pots.
Maybe they’re allergic to you. I have a set that has been on 4 basses now with no hint of a problem.Well poop. I feel really bad and am so sorry. I know you were really interested in trying those. I'm pretty sure that was the only set I have. I'll look again to make sure. I would never have sent them had I thought that would happen. I only tried them on two maybe three basses at the most that I can think of and thought they would surely have another go or two left. I've had about three sets over the years trying to get them to work for me and the tuner ends are just flimsy. More so than any string I have ever used.
I have one of those in my J shaped object. I like having one volume.
If they're Cobalts you won't be walking on those feet!
I've got bournes in mt '55. They were in there when I got it. Obviously not original, but have worked great for over 35 years. The Q Filter was there as well.
I have never tried any of those new fangled plastic pots, they kinda scare me.
After I take a set off they look really worn. The silk on all I've tried came off easily.
Yeah, I thought they were some kind of cheapo pots when I first looked inside. Never seen anything like that. Zero problems in at least 3 decades. But they do just look plum weird.
I know new things exist, I’m just not sure I want them to be a part of my life. 30 years? still needs some more testing until I’m convinced.

Packaging say made in USA.

I’ve heard of playing by ear, but playing by foot???
IIRC quite some time ago I was ranting about how I don’t like blend pots because of the audible volume drop at the center detent. Somebody chimed in and stated that if you use Alpha or CTS pots this is true but if you use a special pot (can’t recall the name, maybe a bournes pot) it eliminates the issue.

I think it needs to be a logarithmic pot, not a linear
