Thunderbird Club

I’d have to mod it enough to plug it in. The collectors would vilify me, but only Eric Johnson would hear any difference.
Another amazing player from TX. But don't care for his singing..... But he would hate mine.
I just wish someone would do a bass demo with them.
Those are few, often with the person doing a lot of things most people never do in a real setting. Guitars have more going on to hear phaser sounds going on, so it is a little different with a bass.

The room changes week to week. It isn't so much atmospheric pressure and humidity directly, but what effect that has on the people. Bulky winter clothes vs. summer clothes. How full the room is. As well, the people with whom you are playing - have they changed anything (or even the player changed) - you aren't listening to yourself in isolation.
Very true. Every person there and where they are is having some impact--even if naked. The people factor is huge and is true for what is beyond the stage area for me, but I'm standing about 6ft away from my amp and cab, so in my situation the people who are there and where they are is having likely minimal effect on what I'm hearing. They are about 25ft away or more at the nearest point. They no doubt are effecting what I'm hearing from the room itself, but that is not a lot given most all of what I'm hearing is from monitors and my cab, which is my bass monitor.

Cool bass! That reminds me, I have a Reverend Rumblefish 5L Blackwood that I haven’t taken out of the hard case for about a year. I need to get that baby out and give her some exercise. Reverend makes some really fine basses.
I'm afraid to get a Reverend because there is a chance I'd like it too much and want more. The Wattplower is intriguing...

One of the reasons I'm selling my Thunderbird...I don't play it enough and it deserves someone who will use it every day.

Sometimes I swear my hearing changes. When I went through some songs last night with the '21, I thought the tone sucked. I didn't touch a thing on the amp or the bass. Then after about 45 minutes it sounded great.

molecules in the air finally synched

A reverend Thundergun in gun metal grey is on my shortlist to purchase. Unfortunately we have a wedding to cover soon so no upcoming bass purchases expected.

But your daughter(?) would love an instrument themed wedding. Talk about not just falling inline and doing what others are doing. And you are paying for it, right?;)

Probably good advice I should follow, but I find it so hard to let go of basses that I’ve bonded with. The very few basses I’ve sold in the last 20 years have almost all been no regret losses because I never really bonded with them. This one is a different story…

…IIRC one of only 4 made in this color and the only one of the 4 with the Blackwood finish on both the front and back.

I think you need to start a new family tradition, the Grooms parents buy a thank you gift for the brides parents for covering the cost of the wedding.

Both great ideas! But even tho we are footing the bill for most of it, I have no real say in any of it. My daughter is not traditional in most ways but even she would draw the line at a Thunderbird themed wedding. But she might be willing to get behind the idea of his family buying me a bass

By the way, it looks like the wedding may be happening in Carlsbad CA. Anyone in the club around that area?

A little selfless self promotion. Our band was lucky enough to get a video done for free! My only regret is my colour choice of Bird. I think I should have gone with my white one, but I did as I was told by the man putting it all together. I hope my Bird family likes it!

Great video, song, sound, playing, stage presence, and everything else! Keep em commin!

You just need to remind your son in law that you get the first dance with your daughter at the reception but after that you’ll take the stage for one song as they do their first dance. And because it’s not a shotgun wedding you won’t need any firearms but you will need a Thundergun for the stage. It’s something they’ll all remember and laugh about as they look back at their wedding.

of course this is the song you should play…
