Thunderbird Club

I actually thought the Whirlwind sounded a slight bit better and had more nuance due to not being as warm as the others. But the Whirlwind is how my 90 sounds. It has some swooshing thing that is more dynamic and multi-dimentional that others seem to lack. But the mix is the real test. I'd have phasers sounding good by themselves but in a mix it's either not dynamic enough to stand out a little or it's too much of something going on and was a bit much. (And I don't go for funky or crazy with it. About 10:00 does it for me.) On one of those clips it seemed like the Whirlwind was a little faster at the same setting. Maybe it was me. From what I can tell, I know why you love the Whirlwind.
Yeah. I keep mind around 10:00 as well.

Something new to help your morning wake-up, if you haven't seen it already......

:bassist:

Excellent! I had not seen that one yet. I’m still living in the past and consequently CD focused for most of my music enjoyment. I stream on pandora or YouTube if I’m playing bass along with the music, but if I hear I band I like I usually try to purchase their CDs. Call me old fashioned. I need to start looking for Warning CDs if they have any vs MP3 releases.

They have CDs available (usually) in the store on their website. Just the first two full albums for now....

They did just release their newest EP on streaming though :)

The wife and I just celebrated our 37th anniversary on Wednesday. She’s a keeper - she keeps me in cars and guitars and every other hobby I spend money on. She’s much lower maintenance than I am, just an occasional diamond here or there. it doesn’t get any better.

Sharon and I celebrate 44 in December. I support and encourage her with the things she does, and she does that for me. She actually told me to stop buying her nice jewelry because she had enough (not all that much).

Wow! To get an original/true MXR Phase 90 can get costly! But I admit I wouldn't sell mine for twice the high price.

This is the one to get Miles for the real deal MXR. Or one like it. Much earlier and you must use batteries only (and had no LED).

(He has the wrong year, should be '73....)
I’d have to mod it enough to plug it in. The collectors would vilify me, but only Eric Johnson would hear any difference.

I just wish someone would do a bass demo with them.

You are not alone. I've used a certain bass and strings in recent years at church--same everything else--and one week absolutely love the tone, then a week or so later use the same bass and strings and wonder what happened and why I'm not over the top about the tone. Not that it's bad, but not "wow" factor I recalled. I know sound people say things like pressure, humidity and other things to do factor in, but you wouldn't think it would be that noticeable.
The room changes week to week. It isn't so much atmospheric pressure and humidity directly, but what effect that has on the people. Bulky winter clothes vs. summer clothes. How full the room is. As well, the people with whom you are playing - have they changed anything (or even the player changed) - you aren't listening to yourself in isolation.

Sounds like you done alright then! Sharon doesn't seem to have done too badly either.
