Thunderbird Club

playing around with this thing now….not convinced yet….although more of a hassle, give me analog any day…

Got one of those this summer, just for kicks. After tweaking it quite a bit, finally had it sounding just right for me. It's old techno, but I think it sounds better than my Zoom BN3. The modulation section is meh (at least on my unit), but I could find some good sounds in the other sections and I really liked the wah. I also have a thing for analog and recently got Tech21's new Bass Fly rig v2. Has everything I need and sounds real good through the headphones, can't wait to give it a run with the band.

I admit I have some interest in the Fly Rig v2, but don't care for chorus. Never does anything in mix.

I like chorus in general when applied moderately, but didn't care for the Bass Boost Chorus Tech21 put out a while ago. My fave for a long time was the MXR Stereo Chorus. I also started using an EHX Bass Clone in the last year, which I find quite good. But I admit the BFR's chorus is pretty good for what I need it to do. I realized strings had something to do with it, at least for me. Chorus sounds great on basses with rounds and sorta dullish the basses I have flats on. YMMV.

As has been discussed here, I'm more of a phaser guy. Just seems to do more and add something subtle to notes for my purposes. But all phasers don't work for me either. I just sold a Boss Bass Chorus a month ago. Loved how it sounded alone, but live is just didn't do anything noticeable for me. Could very well have been user incompetence! Had it for years but just stopped using it and my old 1982 Phase 90 just keeps impressing and fitting what I want.

Probably only knows that one word from a certain magazine that had to be sold in a sleeve. ;)
o_O I have no clue what you're talking about. Furthermore if it's in French I wouldn't even be able to read it.

If there were to be any truth in your statement, and I'm not saying there is, I would have the decency to not admit to such a thing here.

Please explain your apparent familiarity with sleeved reading material. :roflmao:
