Awkward stand: inexpensive, sturdy and stable. But my upper mount was welded crookedly and had to be corrected in a vice. To make it horizontal.
Must've been welded on a Monday.

Thanks for that story!Whoa! Thanks for posting, man! Blast from the very very past. That was a tough show. The legendary DC band, Scream, took us on the road with them for what would be our first out of town shows (Philly and then TT the Bear’s outside of Boston).
Couple fun facts (one involving the below pictured Thunderbird):
Scream’s founding drummer, Kent Stax, was leaving the band, and these were to be his last two shows. His replacement, an 18-year-old kid named Dave Grohl came along on the trip to acclimate himself and further study Kent’s drumming (Kent was an incredibly good drummer). Dave was a friend of my group of friends as we were closer in age to the older dudes in Scream, and a total sweetheart. He was also just an absolute monster drummer even as teen.
The Philly show (sorry there’s no vocals on the recording here, which is a shame as our singer was excellent) was tough, to say the least. We weren’t hardcore enough for a lot of the fans and they let us know. I don’t blame them, but, yeah, not so great. After we, and then Scream played, a fight broke out downstairs in the front of the club. A big fight. Skinheads. Cops. The whole circus. In the madness we loaded-out as quickly as possible and raced to Boston, in the rain, and at a fairly high speed.
The next day, we drove over to TT’s and began loading out for a matinee show. Everything made it…except for my ‘76 ebony T-Bird (which I paid an astronomical $400 for from Roger Marbury, the bassist of Dag Nasty)! I’d left it in Philly. As a result, I had to use Scream bassist’s, Skeeter Thompson’s, poopy Bradley P-bass copy. It was just so awful and sad. BUT, the show was fantastic.
On the way back to DC, we managed to stop in Philly to retrieve the T-Bird…which I then stupidly sold 4 years later. View attachment 4435474
At what point should warn potential buyers of all the inherent problems with Thunderbirds? People have a right to know what kind of mask they are getting into.Greco in the classifieds:

Great video, song, sound, playing, stage presence, and everything else! Keep em commin!
Love it! Some righteous rock and roll. And as much as I love white birds, I think that one worked great in that vid. Love that Firebird, too!
Seems local to me too.
Oh the pain!!!
