I got it from my tailgate to just in the front door by essentially hugging it
And then just slid it across the carpet to where it is now
It's a bit heavier than the Max 250; I'll try & scale it tomorrow

)Other than being dirty, it's actually in pretty good cosmetic shape.
As far as a stack....the cab is 4 ohm - the Max only takes 8 ohm
But I may have a solution brewing, so....work-in-progress

Apparently, this speaker & I have something in common!

NOT a Black Widow....
Checked the super complicated wiring setup, seems to look like it's probably okay?
But, bad foam is, apparently, bad
Is there any way to replace that?
The level of interest my cats have in speaker cabinet dismantling:

just use an ohmmeter in a lower setting (200 Ohm or less)….if good should read slightly under the published value..No....but if you can tell me how, I'll see if I can

If I manually set it to anything other than M ohms (or auto), I get this:
yeah, that other setting confirms it…you got an open…..if it’s 4 Ohms and working it would read anywhere between 3 and 3.8 Ohms…sorry..

I guess the next thing to decide is: replace with the same, or different? Putting in an 8 ohm speaker would make it much more useful.....
i was gonna suggest….pretty sure you can get that one repaired, pretty sure the kits are still available…..sometimes you can see the break within the frame before it disappears into the coil…Well, it was advertised as a bad speaker

It looks like recone kits & replacement baskets are both available. Looks like $100 or so total for recone kits (that I've found so far), counting the not included stuff needed, taxes, etc. $100+ for the basket.
Or a bit more for something new.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Not sure what the specs are for the Scorpion, to find a close-ish replacement - I guess I could check with Peavey.
This (pricey) neo Celestion that's less than 6lbs. would be pretty tempting if I could sell off some things.....
