Thunderbird Club

southern tip of europe…..gibraltar to the right and the atlas mountains in north africa beyond that separated by the med….incidentally, had a jazz and a THUNDERBIRD (both 70’s) stolen around here about 20 years ago..

And on that note: hadda go to GC(Port St. Lucie/Ft. Pierce, FL)to get some new EBCF's. While there asked if they had any '21 NRs. Sales guy said "no". After getting my strings, walked over to the bass section. There, in the top row, 1 genuine '21 NR in either PB or IG-lousy lighting. I didn't bother to try it since (A) I can't afford it*, and (2), it was on the top row. I ain't bothering them to get down sumpin' I ain't buyin'. No point. Told sales guy. He said "musta come in Saturday". Whatever. BTW, they appear to have a 10% vet discount(maybe just this week?).

*unless I sell the '67.
(which I might. But I'm not giving it away)
Update-kinda: Put on the EBCF's E, A, and D(100, 80, 65)but kept the G(50)from the previous set. I know it's only .005 difference, but-to my questionable ears-it sounds 'richer' than a 45, which I think sounds 'thin'. Anyhoo, got 'em on and tuned and the 'Bird is singing again. I liked the 50-105's when they were knew in Feb., but they'd become lifeless. As much as I prefer an old school 'thump', they'd become more of a 'thud'.
