And on that note: hadda go to GC(Port St. Lucie/Ft. Pierce, FL)to get some new EBCF's. While there asked if they had any '21 NRs. Sales guy said "no". After getting my strings, walked over to the bass section. There, in the top row, 1 genuine '21 NR in either PB or IG-lousy lighting. I didn't bother to try it since (A) I can't afford it*, and (2), it was on the top row. I ain't bothering them to get down sumpin' I ain't buyin'. No point. Told sales guy. He said "musta come in Saturday". Whatever. BTW, they appear to have a 10% vet discount(maybe just this week?).


*unless I sell the '67.
(which I might. But I'm not giving it away)

Hey Everyone! I just entered my EB Bird (Ghulah) in the Warmoth Guitar/Bass of the Month competition for November. Please go vote for me if you have the chance and think that she's a cool bass. The voting is open ...I think.. This link will take you to a menu with the "Vote Now November" bit Guitar/Bass of the Month. I think that you need to be a Warmoth Member, if your not, its free, yes you'll likely get sucked in....but building Ghulah was some of the most fun I've had in some time. I highly recommend it!

I'd like to see you get a new NR. I'll buy you a new NR so you won't be out any funds. I'll even buy some EBCFs for it. In a reciprocating act of kindness you can send me your old '67. And... If you drive semi out west and come back this way with some of our stuff sitting in the water, you can just drop the '67 off then if you like.


Please don't call me nasty names on the internet. I'm more used to it in person.:D

Absolutely! Each tube is of course slightly different and the way each gain stage and power stage and how they communicate with each other is very different from manufacturer to manufacturer. That's the black magic in amp building.

I performed some of that black magic back in high school. I used to troubleshoot all kinds of tube circuits. But much of that knowledge is lost to the head injuries of time...

Like this one? I’m on a Peavey kick right now, just got this last month and only because I used to use one (TKO 65) in a punk band and it was louder and heavier “weight wise” than anything I’ve played through since!

Yes, my Ampegs pictured above are hard to drive to breakup. My newish V4-B AV will do it and sounds glorious, but is ungodly loud for anything I'm doing now.
