I tend to like a bigger G as well. Some sets are just not well balanced. GHS has worked on a couple sets that are balanced in tone and feel (as well as others). And at times some Es sound pretty different than the upper strings. One thing I like about String Joy is you can customize a set however you like when ordering and there's no extra cost. You can even calculate the tension.Update-kinda: Put on the EBCF's E, A, and D(100, 80, 65)but kept the G(50)from the previous set. I know it's only .005 difference, but-to my questionable ears-it sounds 'richer' than a 45, which I think sounds 'thin'. Anyhoo, got 'em on and tuned and the 'Bird is singing again. I liked the 50-105's when they were knew in Feb., but they'd become lifeless. As much as I prefer an old school 'thump', they'd become more of a 'thud'.
