Thunderbird Club

Personally, I'd prefer the 3-point.
Turns out, I'm not a huge fan of the two-piece (like what the VP has.....) :bag:
So it isn't just me. My reasoning, in part, has been that if you are dissatisfied with a 3 point, there are 2 alternatives available (maybe more?) but no choices to replace a VP bridge (that I'm aware of).

That can be addressed. ;)

There are some odd things that turn up in the search...

Ichiban is Japanese for first/best and as a result, there are many sushi places around here called Ichiban Sushi (and unironically are rarely good, let alone best). I have always called them Itchybum Sushi because there is some chance of acquiring an intestinal parasite and that name adequately describes one of the possible symptoms.

Mostly just rumors - The Non Reverse hardware placed on the Reverse and possibly a Thunderbird II. Hopefully something will show up at NAMM.
From what I am hearing the Thunderbird as we have known it since 1989 (black hardware, TB plus pickups) is going away to be replaced by something with more vintage specs. I have been asked for a list of desired features and it has been forwarded. That's about all I can at the moment.

I am so over Gibson bass "sunburst".
Just pray they don't hear about that cracker meat...

That was one of the Japanese words my dad learned while vacationing/camping outside in Korea from 1950-'52. All expenses paid by the gubment! Some other words I won't mention. It was funny to hear him tell of Korean's pick up on "soldier talk" and use in in seriously wrong places.

Finally they get it. Hopefully they'll get the PU spacing back where it's supposed to be as well.

That word? The one that is a noun, verb, adjective, and adverb? I have heard soldiers have entire conversations using only that one word. I used to participate in a skit called "the airborne debating club" which featured the word rather prominently.

I’m kinda liking the Greco configuration of a three point with a hard tail. Seems to solve the auto extracting stud problem as well as the silks on saddle problem and with a bridge cover still looks fairly retro.

I like the 3 point, stupid simple and it works.

I really like the claw with the 3 point, I added one to my 21 NR thanks to @godofthunder59

Same on construction sites. Very flexible word. I've heard it used of hammers, roofing, transits, saws, jackhammers, etc, and even people once in a while.;) I expect it on construction sites but ladies in office buildings are about on the same level these days.

Anybody use the gotoh gb707 tuners?

Hipshot ultralite are only 9 grams lighter per tuna.

I have them on my Nocturnal/Warmoth Bird bass and have a couple sets that will be added to other basses whenever I get around to it. I like them and they hold the tuning as they should. I also have Hipshot tuners and like those, but if I want a set with chrome I will go with the Gotoh's. They may not be as light as the Hipshot, but I'm okay with that.

Please excuse my hose in the pic.

got to control your ho(se)'s

I have some gb707's in my ebay cart, I'm thinking those are my best bet

Hopefully they do, I've been down this road before. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, I have no confidence in people who thought it was a good idea to mess it up in the first place. No offense to those who love the modern version, but for those of us who have spent decades with original Thunderbirds, this is great news. I love how my '06 plays, but it just does not sound like a Thunderbird having had the real deal in your ears.
