Thunderbird Club

From what I am hearing the Thunderbird as we have known it since 1989 (black hardware, TB plus pickups) is going away to be replaced by something with more vintage specs. I have been asked for a list of desired features and it has been forwarded. That's about all I can at the moment.

Just the fact that you got something out there is very encouraging - Thank you, Scott!

I am so over Gibson bass "sunburst".
.....what's there not to like?....

Maybe not a Gibson, but I am glad to have one 'Burst and it seems to feel right on this bass. Also I really like Gibson's Black/Red Yellow burst that was used on the RD's, perhaps my fave.

The main reason why I got a VP and not a regular Gibson is the looks, I hate those black plastic pickups, the lack of rims, the bridge would be ok if it matched in chrome the pickups and the small "Y or T" shaped tuners that I got no idea why they are being used instead of the classic deal on that enormous headstock hahaha
After reading you guys talking about a comeback of the vintage specs ... I was digging the non-reverse (even tho I would like a real headstock, with all the respect for the actual one) I might wait and see ... it would be amazing if Gibson went on a full vintage vibe as we have with the VP line.

Pickup rings aren't a problem for the black pickups. You just have to get them separately.
