I think there are a number of Tbirds in the 8lb range. Is that the lightest T-bird ever? 8.4 lbs? Also, I'll be honest, I kinda dig the witch hat knobs for a more 70s look...

I had the 2021 Nonreverse out at rehearsal tonight, it definitely earned a place in the stable. The pickup swap was wildly successful imho the Epiphone 760 Probuckers really capture that aggressive overdriven sound of a 60s Nonreverse. I yanked the stock cap and put a Sprague orange drop in, really, really happy with the results. The bass is essentially a Thunderbird II now, there is only a empty pickup cover in the bridge position. This offering from Gibson is a step in the right direction, lets hope they keep moving to a 60's spec bass.View attachment 4514469
Well said.mixed feelings here.
Happy to see the Gibson word mark back on the truss cover, sad to see no bird logo on the pickguard. Happy to see a new color offering, sad that it isn’t a very big departure from tobacco burst. Happy to see the chrome bridge and tuners, sad to see the black plastic pup rings. Happy that Gibson is messing around with different ideas in the sandbox, sad that its priced at over $2500.
Just a quick thought, I applaud the concept of the mod market series, but 20 years down the road when these things hit the used market there’s probably gonna be a whole lot of confusion around the authenticity of these special runs. Word of advice to the initial buyer - take screen shots of the ad and print them, keep all the paperwork and hang tags and warranty cards and receipts in a safe place. If you ever sell the bass all that provenance could make a huge difference in the asking price.
