That Ampeg cab is a wonder of physics. I'm told by my amp guy that it has better air displacement than an 810. I just know it makes a lot of sound: hefty, expansive lows and lots of punch, with your amp eq'd for it...
There's one waiting for me to pick up if I want it, but I'm not sure I need the weight...
(Coming from the guy with the out-house sized tube amp...)

..I am currently sold on the Bergantino Forte HP...that coupled with the NV115 times 2. The Agular 751 drives the Berg 610..just like you have. Love that too. I think if you indeed have amp gas,I would suggest the Forte HP at 1200 watts. Pair that with the NV 610 and your quest will be over until the next new thing comes out. The great thing about Bergantino amps is that they continue to provide software updates for new sounds and improvements to the amp that you own.
I take out the Berg NV 115 (X2) with the Forte HP for gigs these days..My guys love the sound ..and so do I...Without the weight. :)

It's the re-branded Sunn (Fender) 300T, yes. I had one, let it go for home reasons, and just ran into one again in a pretty fortuitous moment.
It's been jacked up with oversized tubes and a transformer helper to keep heat down.
Picking up Monday.
And yeah, features... I'm going to be a while getting the new amp-chops together!

I will not disagree that this is what many do.

However, there is a way to use them with a "boutique" amp that does not defeat the purpose of the tube head. Klons and Klon-like drives can be used without adding distortion. They get described as "transparent" however, they are far from transparent. They give a midrange boost that "sweetens" the sound of the tube amp.

Hmm, that sounds like an interesting pedal. I just looked it up.
I've been looking for a simple preamp to use with the power amp modeller/IR loader and while that isn't a pre amp in theory it could work as is has the "mid" option.

Yup. I run my Damnation MBD into the B15 at the practice space and it sounds fantastic.

Master Effects makes lots of preamp pedals that emulate various amps. I'm in love with my GK 800RB one.

I would have to look up the dB gain on it, but it works really well as a pre.
With a little fiddling, works half decent as a distortion into the tube head. I haven't tried it into the SS amp
