These are discontinued now, so grab it if you can, supposed to be pretty sweet with the SVT.
If you don’t like it I’m sure you could get your money back on a resale.

not a big fan…kinda defeats the purpose of an all tube signal chain and o/d…just my humble opinion….see all these guys with expensive hand built boutique amps (Dumbles, Friedmans, Bogners, and so on) with Tube Screamers……:rollno:

I ordered one of the Genzler "4 on the floor" pedals yesterday.
supposed to emulate a b15, svt, vox ac30, and an acoustic 360. Genzler and agedhorse designed it

I use the spark as my gain knob to push clean into the VR head. I miss that gain knob

True enough. Every guitarist I know with a tube amp puts a pedalboard in front of it and most of those drive/distortion pedals are SS.

I did something similar when I bought my Hiwatt 200. Got rid of my lightweight and "convenient" amps. Now its just the Hiwatt and a 2x12 cab for gigs and practice. Just think of yourself as "zigging" while others are "zagging"......:bassist:

Now you’ve gone and done it! I haven’t had any rig GAS for years because I’m so pleased with what I have. But I’d sure like to hear your thoughts on the Berg head and cab rig (actually looks like a 412 and a couple of 115 cabs but hard to tell exactly from the pic). Specifically, I’d like to know your thoughts on how the Berg head compares to the SVT and the Aggie heads through the Berg cabinets.

My big rig is currently an SVT-VR through an NV610 and my Standard rig is currently a Thunderfunk 420 or a vintage Musicman HD150 through an HT322. I’m dead sold on the Berg cabs but have never tried their amps. I used to run an Aggie DB750 through the NV610 and before that an Aggie GS412. So a lot of common ground for reference points.

I’ve never been one to lock into all tube signal chains. Played through plenty of great sounding SS amps and Tube amps and Hybrids. In fact one of my favorite hybrids has a SS preamp with tube power section vs the more typical tube preamp with SS power section. I haven’t a clue how things work behind the scenes but I do know a good sound when I hear it, and that’s all I really focus on, no tube purest mindset for this hack. If a tube pedal or a SS pedal on the front end makes things sound better I’m all for it. :thumbsup:

It's my good place to be: a bass I like and an amp I like... I want simple more than anything. Call me a one-trick dawg...

Is that the older model, the rebadged Sunn 300T? I had one years ago, was my first big amp, sold it when I moved to the Sunn 2000s. Great amp, built like a tank and about as heavy. Never used the built in compressor, but the fuzz was neat. A lot of options on it, I liked the Bright and Deep switch and being able to defeat the graphic EQ.

I have an ear out for the sound here in Seattle. It will carry this far, no doubt.
