Do the Stones even have any Ya Yas left at this point? I rather suspect that any Ya Yas they get are pharmaceutically induced.
They have a mint K-1000 on their home page! That must be worth a small fortune these days!

I like mine. I had a 2006 T-Bird and the neck was wider and thicker, albeit a little bit, than the 2014.
It's a really nice cotton. Stays put very well. And the ends are fantastic.
There are also volume attenuator boxes of various kinds that can be placed in between the head and cab. This way you can run the head as hard as you want but the volume is cut to the cab to non-statium levels. More for guitars but I've heard a few bassists claim to use them.

They apparently do different types - the one I have is a leather-esk vinyl material and as long as the bass is well balanced it is fine.
Same here. Cats buy a nice tube amp and get their distortion from transistors and thingies in a stomp box.... I get the switching from clean to distortion, but it seems a lot of guys aren't getting Marshall distortion, but Ibanez. Go figure. To me that's like buying a nice SVT (etc), but then using a amp simulator in front of it.not a big fan…kinda defeats the purpose of an all tube signal chain and o/d…just my humble opinion….see all these guys with expensive hand built boutique amps (Dumbles, Friedmans, Bogners, and so on) with Tube Screamers……
For me, I couldn't care less what's inside. As long as it sounds good. And I find my MBD makes anything sound better.
Wasn't that the story where their amps didn't make it to the location and Ampeg supplied amps and that kind of put Ampeg on the map?
Since I got my 21 NR and my 88 Greco, I haven’t been playing much fretless.

There is a logical reason for that. And you hit on it.
Agree, but some things are just head scratchers to me as to how some people get their sound. 103% Of them could care less what I think.
I have had a couple couch straps and I’m not a fan.
Vinyl backed Ace are my favorite, but cotton or cotton backed is a close second.
I don’t like nylon or nylon backed.
I heard they brought their 220 volt amps over and ruined them plugging into our voltage, don't know how true that is but yes it was something like that.

I only know of them based on one strap I own, which has a buffalo-textured vinyl. No problems with it on the bass it is on that is well designed for optimal balance to begin with. I'm guessing that would eliminate most T-birds unless you "sling" them at your crouch.
too grabby or too slidy?
I change the angle of the neck frequently while playing so I like a little bit of slide without grabbing too much.
