Thunderbird Club

Does yours have tiger-flaming on the wings?

It does. I need to get some better shots of it, but this is the best I can do at the moment.

Looks nice - I've seen a '76 in a factory natural, but not with gold hardware and a blocked/bound fb. Is that some sort of modded '70's IV?

A side bar; I recall at one time there was a debate about gen1 T-birds not having a 'horn' strap-peg - only the one at the heal. I contend they came with both since '63 as my '63 II had both, as does my '64 II and every other one I've ever seen. I removed mine as it wasn't being used (still have all 3 - replaced with Dunlop Strap-Lok pegs) Not to say there is a rare case of no peg at the upper 'horn' - but it would be the exception to the rule.

Mine has both (as does the '76).

Anyone have a small steel rule handy?

Looking for the measurement of the chrome trim bezels, either total width-length, or difference wider/longer than the pickups themselves.
I originally wasn't going to run them, thinking I may change that

Thanks
My Chinabuckers trim rings are:
Exterior dimension 3-15/16” x 2-1/8”
Interior dimension 3-13/16” x 1-11/16”

When I bought that brand new one I had it in my kitchen with one of those little Advent 400 mono tuners and a horn tweeter on top, it sounded like a hifi, nothing I played in back then was ever soft enough for it :D so it did double duty. I had a 60's B-15N at one time too but like the 70's better. I've always used SVT's but like the little amps at home for obvious reasons. The JBL sounds louder and more clear to me in mine, better able to handle the 60 watt head too. I've used the S and the B-18 at blues jams here and there. I only bought the B-18 just to have one. It's got an original British Goodman's 16 ohm 18" in it, very nice sounding speaker with a lot of top end for an 18".

My rehearsal rig is a Carvin 18" cab and Mesa M2000 650w Tube/Fet head. :bassist:

The breakfast of champions or as one might say in French:
Le petit dejeuner des champignons...

;)
When I worked construction, there were some jobs where we would go in at 5 AM or 7AM, work all day and then have to come back at 11PM and work while a restaurant, for example, was closed. Then often go back at 7AM, if we went home. Often we didn't know the schedule until that day when wold be based on what was going on and what the subs were doing. Our sleeping and eating schedules were off a great deal. This was what we called our Breakfast of Champions.

In this case it absolutely rocks!!

A satin finish has a lot going for it. One thing I like about it is that the player interface areas get 'buffed' and so the finish acquires character - it looks like it is played! It's subtle, but it's there.

It's where my pinky rests against the DS/BS pu while playing. Sorta functions as a 'stilt' to ground my right hand. Better than using your thumb, because it frees all digits (including the thumb) to play... other than the pinky!
