Thunderbird Club

Sure is. I lived a a block from Churchill Downs as a kid. We would find a golf ball and stand in my next door neighbor's yard and see if we could get them across two streets to the Downs. It can be done. Sometimes.... "Run!"
In university, we had a funnelator.

How to Make a Funnelator(easy) : 3 Steps - Instructables

The engineers that built it found that surgical tubing has a spring constant that varies with tension applied. The muzzle velocity was estimated at 200kmh. But, firing water balloons, because they aren't solid, would lose energy quickly and never flew straight. We managed to land water balloons at a range of 500+ meters. The party trick was that the Vanier Cup (Canadian College Football final) would be played at Varsity Stadium every year and we could launch water balloons onto the field from outside the stadium.

Can I ask a favor? Just getting ready to start my trip to India and if you could all stop posting while I'm in transit I would appreciate it. I really don't want to have to go through 100 pages to catch up while jet lagged. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. :help:

Sure.

Oh poop. I just posted.... Sorry. You back yet?

I think you guys are messing with me. Every time I go in a music store I ask about them having Talent Simulators in stock I get a funny look and they say they haven't heard of them. I tell them I saw them right here on the internet.
Yeah, any time I have tried, they just tell me that I can take lessons.

Does Gene Simmons need lessons? No! So nor do I.

Love it. But was the water clear or yellow?

Clear. We would be drinking while filling, so not enough time to generate the yellow variety. And hanging out with engineers, we had methods developed to optimize filling time of balloons as well as transport and everything else. And you don't want to be too drunk if you might have to run from police on horseback - and that is where the army training comes in handy - have escape routes planned that will thwart pursuers on horseback, and in cruisers (cops won't actually run).

Travel safely, take care!

Yeah, I'll try the foam first but I'm afraid it might need a wax-potting. Not that it should be a difficult task for a pro to do.

It's a super easy thing to wax pot. Set-up a double boiler, and either suspend the pickup in it or keep it elevated off the bottom of the pot for some other means, and keep the pickup submerged until air bubbles stop coming out. I had to wax-pot my Greco pickup as it squealed like a stuck pig at gig volumes when I originally got it.

Even better you can do vacuum potting.

mayo jar, some tubing and a fish tank pump, and you can get all the air out for sure...

I keep meaning to wax pot an old gibson pickup and an old dimarzio I have.
