I remember hearing about that. For the record, I've never been attacked by gators, sharks, snakes, gophers or even flying headstocks while Thunderbirding. Much safer.

When they were building the Gold Coast they built canals for drainage connecting to Nerang River and other creeks and the ocean; so they could sell many more ‘waterfront’ house blocks.
Of course the dream was just swimming, boating and fishing right from your backyard. Over the years the bull sharks moved in and decided it was a great spot to live. Over the years the numbers increased and now it is ‘don’t go in the water’.
