Thunderbird Club

I had a Dingwall Super J/P for about a year. Played a 4 hour gig the same day I got it. Takes just a couple minutes to get over the visual hump, then I forgot all about it unless I was playing up really high, then it seemed a little odd at first. Thankfully, I don’t play way up high on the fingerboard much :)

I wonder if Guitar Center SF has one in the store... I'm very curious to try one.

I accidentally hit a drummer in the head with my headstock

I just saw this happen between two friends of mine about a week ago. Keith swung around to his left from a forward platform and whacked Lisa right in the head and a photog caught it all. Poor thing... but luckily no blood.

Totally Keith's fault and boy did he feel bad.

Good thing he wasn't playing a Thunderbird. We all know what would have happened....

“Free Beer” was a bands name in Sydney until the pubs stopped hiring them.

There's a morning zoo radio show called, Free Beer and Hot Wings.

Unlistenable.

He owns 2, a Gibson TBIV and an Epi Vintage Pro. Good thing he wasn't playing one of them because he'd have caught her right in the middle of her forehead instead of the glancing blow.

I have done that. And yeah, feeling really bad about it instantly happened as well. It was the P. That thing has an evil personality. It hits things all the time. Thunderbirds are much better behaved that way.

Well, look what my local L&M has in stock...

Plus a black VP

Still no sign of my NR...

You will not be disappointed with a Dingwall D-roc.
I received my 5 string D-roc in October last year. I was initially a bit "wonderstruck" by the fan-frets ( and returning to a 5 after several years ) but within a few days I was totally comfortable with it. It's now done 4 gigs
It really is like a Thunderbird on steroids & definitely nails that "big angry piano" tone, especially when played with a pick.

I figured it was likely his fault since the mic was on the stand and the stand was on the floor...

LOL- I don't recall ever hitting another person. But I've hit about every other object on earth. :rollno: I always think, "What's the matter with you? Headstocks aren't new here...."

I have bashed an elbow into a doorway twice this past week. Elbows aren't new here. Just normal life.

Riffing off that (great!) photo... I want a Vans Halen tee shirt. Imagery is a cross between the Morley pedal guy and a SKAteboarder band dude playing a Thunderbird.
