Thunderbird Club

I was 13 when I picked up an electric bass for the first time.
It took a while to grasp.
But from that very moment.
There was no turning back.
I was 12 or 13 too. There was this massive hollow body, blonde bass in a case. I took it out, and boldly strapped it on. It was huge. It was badass. It took another 4 years to really take it on, but when I finally did, it was go.
Thanks for the reminder.

What a bass!

Yeah the white is stark and total glitz.

It's a cool shape and the homogenizing white (it could be any solid colour) shows it off. Exotic multi-lam wood construction is cool, but that's what you're looking at - "ooo, pretty wood!" - And white basses/guitars stand out on stage. Only thing better is a reflective finish.

We're having ice and snow and our power has been off about an hour now. Not to worry, the trusty house generator kicked on after about 30 seconds and all Thunderbirds are all safe and warm! I've had generators at the last two houses and I highly recommend them. Ten out of ten Thunderbirds love them.

Glad you're covered! Something we don't have to be concerned with here in the Bay Area! But then, there are fires and earthquakes... :bag:

Keeping it much longer? ;)

I'm glad you're able to experience and now own where the real magic happens. As I've said before, they just have "it." Changed strings yet?

It's a beat up Road Warrior to be sure - the "it" in this one is amazing, I haven't changed the strings out because it sounds so good just the way it is and I'm not going to mess it up! The pickup is basically flush with ring and it's still quite loud, maybe not as much as the Lull or the Greco, but close and I have the pickups on those basses raised closer to the strings. I think it was a bit ahead of it's time 58 years ago, music wasn't quite ready for what Gibson created.
