I'll trust that the driver/delivery person can read and hope for the best.

How hard would it be for a thief to just take the whole locked box or pop the lock with blunt force?

I like the idea of having the delivery company holding the package for pick up. Not that I use that service but if I had concerns, that's what I'd do.

You read my mind. Now I don't have to type all that!
Ditto wasn't enough??

I don't understand why management doesn't have a serious talk with artists to let them know that opening their mouths on politics runs the risk of alienating half of their audience. And once those people stop buying your music, t-shirts, and whatever miscellaneous crap you sell them, your revenue line drops by half while your fixed costs remain the same (just ask the Dixie Chicks). But I suspect that there is a fair bit of hubris on the part of the artist as well thinking that they couldn't be wrong and that they are so inspirational that they will change people's minds.

But what if said artist already sold their catalog?

That's a pretty cool song, that I've never heard before. (or of the band) By Todd, do you mean Todd Rundgren? Early '70s? It reminds me early Bowie and early Kate Bush and of this 1970 LP by an obscure Vancouver/Canadian band called Brahman. (apparently there's a more recent/different Brahman...) They have a bit of a prog/Yes vibe but since they were of the same time , they were more contemporaries than competitors.

I go way back with this LP, I bought it when it was fairly new in a local grocery store from the 'cut-out' bin (you'd have to be as old as me to know what that refers to ;)) and have always loved it. Two songs specifically - if you can't/don't want to listen to the whole LP - at least listen to "You Changed My Life" 16:13 (first song on side2 - should have been the first song on side1!) first, and then "Waiting to Love You" 26:34 (last song on side2 - a good choice for the last song) "Waiting to Love You" has some of the most aggressive bass recorded (sounds like an overdriven Ric played with a pick) and it drives the song like a locomotive. "Waiting to Love You" has some great Hammond B3 organ (Robbie King) and vocals both lead and background. That period was the golden era for pop-rock music (late '60s-early '70s)

Thanks for the tip! I will check it out definitely.

And yes, Todd Rundgren indeed. One of my big favourites of all time. I once met him outside of Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki after his gig in 2008. People wanted him to sign albums and one quite common item was "Bat Out Of Hell". When I gave him "Arena" he commented sarcastically "Finally, the new album!". :D

Hold for pickup seems like a much more secure option if you have watched any of the Lockpicking Lawyer videos.

That kinda what I was wonder in the NY situation, I thought he had sold out
I have no details of the contract.

I think in many/most cases, it is not an outright sale of the copyright, but a license. I also think that the "price" that gets reported is not a lump sum, but the total of all payments over the term of the contract.

Lock picking is sooooo fancy.

Almost every lock will "pop" open when struck with the force of high-top sneaker swung at a decent speed in a downward motion.

Don't ask me how I know this...
The Lockpicking Lawyer is amusing to watch in that he often shows that exploits (such as you describe) result in faster opening than using the key/combination. It is equally horrifying in that you see that locks are only going to stop honest people.

That is a fact.

My kids park their cars in the driveway and I have to keep reminding them not to leave their backpacks in plain sight since it may result in the loss of the backpack and contents along with a smashed out window or popped lock.

At one point he sounded a bit like Beefheart. Definitely some buckle-rash on that EB-3...

Sorry to hear about your little doggy passing. Beth and I can't imagine what it's going to be like when our little Mona passes someday - she's our fist dog and we are so deeply connected to her.

Thank you JIO, I appreciate it. It's a horrible feeling that I wouldn't wish on any one. I feel for you just thinking about it. Mona is so sweet looking. We have one dog left, Grady the black lab. He has to be the sweetest dog I've ever encountered, and I've had dogs virtually all of my life. After him I never want to go through that hurt again. If people we only as pleasant as most dogs.....

That's it right there. Not worded strongly enough, but close enough for here.;)

I know, asking a lot... asking more just to notice a box right at the entry that the package would fit in, and it has a lock. 1+1=? ... but maybe that's also asking a lot... maybe I should provide a pictogram of what to do, caveman style.
 It'd be funnier if it wasn't pretty accurate.

It’s true that locks only stop honest people, but while the box @JIO installed could be defeated by a number of methods, it does take the package out of sight and stop the opportunist thief.
Security is never absolute, but you can add layers.

Perhaps a camouflaged Go-Pro activated by the opening of the lid?

I see you have a Tony Franklyn there.

Ok, maybe not. But sure looks close to one.

Yeah, it is, I had it modded VVT and a side jack. I have Rotos on it and the neck has virtually no marks on it, I don't like coated necks so ebony is ideal for me, I'm even thinking of getting another NR and having a luthier convert it to fretless with an ebony board.
