Almost impossible to know but a attrition rate of 25% or higher wouldn't surprise me.

Ronnie introduces it by talking about the time he, Allen, and Gary collected Coke bottles to go down to Miami and catch the group he considered the greatest ever in concert. It's not as stellar in a couple of places, but they still tear it up. And Ronnie's outro!



Leon has more top end here than I'm used to hearing in a lot of his playing (including the two concerts I went to).

After all these years, I'm still amazed when I listen to a studio or their live album with good buds and carefully pick our what each one is doing. Amazing and musical. With all that going on, they really knew how to not step all over each other. Not bad for some poor kids who chased the dream.

We barely make enuff $-that's the market here-to pay for four; the few keyboard players we know won't schlep all their [stuff] for what they'd get paid, and many of our "stages" are tight.

I play some keys(I ain't no Billy Powell. Or Billy Joel. Or anybody else that's good). I've thought of getting a multi function keyboard(I have a POS electric piano-it has a 'bass' section. I used it with our band's previous line-up: guitar, bass, drums, lead singer)for some of our songs. Again, not worth the hassle plus the lack of space.
Three of the current four of us sing lead; drummer does some harmonies.

Yes, I like the alternate version for the reasons you mentioned.

Had the same experience at a Chicago concert in Atlanta. And we were sitting right in front of subs. I've played many of those bass lines, so I heard 'em in my head. Not through the speakers.

I never sit in front of speakers at concerts, it's torture to me. I once went to see a band in a local theatre who had a couple of good sounding pop singles out. The soundman turned up the kick drum so loud it blew a speaker or something as I went to a concert at the same place a few weeks ago and you could hear it. There is nothing so obnoxious to me as a too loud kick drum at a concert which seemed to be a style for a while. It actually hurt and I think i left early, couldn't stand it.

EDM dance parties at a beach…the only thing you hear even if it’s a fake kick drum.

I like Cale. Kind of has his own quirky style. But you're right. I think others often do his songs very well.

Talk about cover of a great song. Listen to this with some good speakers or buds. Allen Collins simply tears it up. I sometime get chills during the second solo. The whole band is just tight. Love the drums as well. As much as I love Cream. Skynyrd kills it. (More rabbit hole for Marshall!)
