Thunderbird Club

Okay,
A little announcement for the club.

We will have a Get Together July 2 and 3, 2022 in Santa Cruz CA., I will be there with my husband for both days.
Plans for the event are still coming into focus but the thought would be to have a meet up at a restaurant in Santa Cruz and enjoy adult beverages, food and lots of conversation. At some point, possibly the next day we can likely visit the home of @Chucky Stiletti as he's nearby and we could enjoy Thunderbird basses and make some noise as well.
The guest list includes @JJR58 who will be jet setting in from the East Coast, we'll need to let him know how the West Coast throws a Thunderbird Club Get Together.

TLDR; Thunderbird Club get together 7/2,7/3 2022 in Santa Cruz, CA. more details to follow.

Yeah baby!!!!! Yeah!!!!!

So sorry gang, just looked closer at the Epiphone Thunderbird, it IS bolt on, the backside body wings fooled me, I'll plug it in later....
Here’s where some of us bought our black pickguards. Overstocktoys | eBay Stores Price has gone up. The holes may not line up on your Epi. But if I wanted that mod, I wouldn’t mind a few new holes. No one will see the other ones anyway so long as they get covered.

Tried to use mate in Cusco to help with the lack of O2...not sure it really did much. Maybe I needed better leaves :woot:
I used to drink Mate regularly. My family (mennonites) were in Paraguay and Uruguay from the 1920s-60s and they brought the habit with them when they moved to Canada. It was a social thing, passing it around in a circle…much like weed (pre-pandemic) except you get a caffeine-like buzz.

This little piggy went to market...La Boqueria. Yum, cook me some nice cerdo. Too bad Barcelona is filled with Catalan...

lechon a la catalana…..Andalucia any day for me…mossos can go you know where…. if you said vasco o gallego but catalan? sounds like poorly spoken french….

What we see is holes in laws as a result of lawmakers' inability to see the future.

In making products that are "bad for you" attractive to minors, I question whether it should be illegal to produce them, although I certainly think it is immoral, because the government can't be the arbiter of morality. I support freedom in all forms including the right of an adult to choose what they put into their body (and the accompanying responsibility for the result of those choices).

But parents need to protect their children. I don't think parents should be outsourcing the raising and protection of their children to the state by expecting laws and regulations to be a broad shield. But having said that, ID laws around purchasing a wide variety of products is a reasonable intervention on the part of the state.

A friend works for the Cuerpo Nacional de Policia. He was in Barcelona for many years before moving to Tenerife. He hated the local police but really loved to make fun of the guardia civil. Nice hats

Spent time in Malaga and it is nice. My family is true Casetellano from a little village just outside of Salamanca. If you don't lisp, you aren't Spanish ;)
lived and played pro in Marbella for over 6 years between Franco’s death and Spain’s entry into the EU….wonderful years…
ironically king Ferdinand spoke with a lisp and everyone imitated him….La Real Academia de la Lengua considers castilian spoken in Colombia to be it’s purest form…(no lisp)…

Stinkin' academics :D Certainly the Spanish spoken in Colombia is the most formal. Parents even use the usted conjugation with their children. I personally feel that Argentinians sound the most like the accents of central Spain. But there is no lack of different dialects in Spain.

Interesting how subjective hearing can be. Vos is only used in latin America. Has not been used in Spain in at least a century…. If anything, Rioplatense sounds more like Neapolitan imho….

But we have vosotros. Como estais. I'll take anything just don't say como se "jama" for llama.

On the other hand, we have lots of bureaucrats that love to tell you you didn't meet a deadline. No same day voter registration in Spain.

The tea out here is much better than caffeine, or maybe I make it too strong? How did they get the leaves into Canada? They warn people here not to bring any coca leaves into the U.S.
