Tide Pod Generation Band Names

boy...the hate on young people will NEVER stop, huh? This (mostly) from a generation that once sang "Hope I die before I get old"...now it makes total sense.

PS...I'm middle aged

PPS...actually "middle aged" like "in the middle of my life"...not "boomer middle aged" which now means 70, I think

Agreed - like kids in earlier generations didn’t do dumb a$$ things, like collect pogs or play jacks, whatever that was all about.

I’m 47, and have two kids I’m incredibly proud to know, let alone be their parent, aged 18 and 16. They’re way WAY better educated than I was at their ages, and have a much clearer sense of who they are and what is important to them, some things which I didn’t figure out for myself until just a few years ago. They’re also not burdened by the effort of shrugging off the casual racism and sexism my generation inherited from our parents. I have great hopes for their generation; I just hope the planet hasn’t heated to a crisp by the time they’re my age. Our generation and the ones before it sucked, and destroyed our collective future. These kids deserve something better than what we are leaving behind for them.

I don’t care what they call the music I play and listen to - my kids are both huge fans of the music I listen o anyway - but call it dad rock or revive the old dinorock label, I don’t care. But let’s leave the kids alone, they’re more than “all right”, they’re better than us.

I’m 16 and you think I’d be in a band like “the offended pretend players gone too far” or “tide pod Johnny and the fidget spinners” yes, some losers are like that but I’m not one of those squares!!! You losers put this on us. You went around making things easier for future generations and then complain that we have it too easy! You told us we could be anything and do what we want and then you complain that people act strangely and do weird stuff. We are the result of you and your millennial children’s doing!!!

Don’t worry Ryan, you’ll probably be old someday too. You’ll have the chance to bitch about both the generations that came before you and after you.

Retail Clerk: I'm sorry but we just sold out of [Whatever item you're looking for]

Millennial: No worries! Thank you anyway

Baby Boomer: I DEMAND TO TALK TO THE MANAGER RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

More like, Baby Boomer insists on speaking to the manager because the 18 year old checkout girl won't let them pay for goods with expired coupons issued by a different retailer.

Baby Boomer manager will probably let Baby Boomer customer away with it as well, yet somehow it is the Millenials who get lumped with the Participation Trophy stigma (we never asked for it, it was our parents who thought this was a good idea; the same ones who voted for successive governments based in part on their education policies, and then complain about the intelligence of kids).

Actually being crappy towards minimum-wage retailer workers isn't so much Baby Boomer behaviour as Wine Mom behaviour, and Wine Moms appear to crop up in Gen X as well. Actually, I'm a Millennial and I'm seeing some of my old classmates turn into Wine Moms at the age of 27 or so...

Millennial band: Diamond Industry Killers

Tide Pod generation, aka Generation Z, don't listen to bands. They listen to mumbling Soundcloud rappers. As a Millennial the Gen Z-ers worry me a lot.

I've laughed hard at a few of these!

I've employed a few millennials. They fit every single stereotype. They were so bad they were caricatures of themselves.

Btw epic thread potential. I'm predicting lots of butthurt.

That's a good one.

"Lots of Butthurt"

Did you ever have one that you had to call at home at 10am on a workday to find out why he wasn’t at work as scheduled? Only to find out his reason for not being there was because he was sleeping since he was up all night playing a MMORPG? And this was a kid with a Masters degree making $60k right out of grad school....

Fair is fair. :)
What are some good band names for groups from Generation Z AKA the Post-Millennials -- those folks born from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s?

I'll start

Tide Pod Teens
My First Beer
Sons of Siri
Keyboard Warriors
Twitter Trouble[
/QUOTE] O.M.G group!

It has never once crossed my mind to eat detergent as a stunt.
Has anyone in this thread ever eaten a Tide Pod?

No, but Baby Boomers love to remind the rest of us about how much richer a childhood they enjoyed because it was free of the dreaded health 'n' safety and red tape. You could go and make black powder in your garage, smoke bombs in your shed, spend the day shooting squirrels (and your little brother) with a BB gun with a bent barrel, drive drunk to a Ted Nugent concert and then drive home again high. The fire exits at the venue were all padlocked shut, but nobody cared because the beer was as cheap as water, which was as cheap as the gas you put in your car.

And then you hear "well none of us wore seatbelts back then and we're all still alive!!!"

Eating Tide Pods is stupid, but I wager that about six people have ever actually eaten a Tide Pod, and this is another old/dead media scare, along with 'Rainbow Parties' and crystal meth disguised as sweets for the kids.

Totally agree. The hate isn't really coming from the 40ish generation, it's the boomers. I'm in my 40s and we had a similar amount of hate slung at us by our equivalent geriatric generation, which would have been the people born in the 1920s / 30s, mostly dead and buried by now. The only difference is that the current geriatric generation has the internet as an outlet to vent, so their voices are more audible than previous generations. But I think, historically speaking, it's normal for people in their 'twilight years' to ridicule the young. It's pitiful but not abnormal.

Yeah, it’s only the people still alive who are saying those things.

Anyone remember people getting trampled to death at big name concerts back in the 70s and 80s?

Safety features exist because people in the past have done stupid stuff and people died or got hurt. Yeah, my parents drove without using seatbelts, and I recall being about 3 years old and sitting on my mother’s lap in the front seat on long drives. I’m glad there are seatbelts and child seats these days, and helmets, and laws that restrict ownership of firearms.

I think the blowback on this thread is that in the Dad Band threads, we were mostly mocking ourselves since quite a few of us fit that description.

We need to let the young’uns mock themselves and come up with less lame, more topical Tide Pod Gen band names....;-)

I’m not even going near the Mom Band thread!

"Back in my day," people just put razor blades in apples at Halloween.

Like Rainbow Parties and meth/MDMA/marijuanas/Ritalin disguised as candies, it never actually happened. I don't know what the actual number of Tide pod eaters is, but I'd be surprised if it's even as high as six. Statistically speaking, it never happened at all.
