I don't pretend to understand the science. Maybe someone who does can explain it to you better than I ever could. All I know is that the SB nickels are lower tension and more flexible than most nickel rounds I've tried.

Nothing was as flexible as the now discontinued D'Addario Flexsteels. I couldn't even manage them. Literally felt like I was playing springs.

As a general rule, comparing a hex core and a round core of the same size (ie the core size itself), the hex core would be stiffer-feeling, though not always higher in tension (ie pulling weight). However, a string with a small hex core can be more flexible than one with a larger round core.

The Dunlop Super Brights are hex core but more flexible than some strings with a round core due to the smaller core size.

La Bella is working on catching up on all of our stocking orders. Once we have a definite ship date we will let you know. Word is Flats are shipping to us for next week delivery, Tapes the following week.

I love the stainless, I just wished tbey were higher tension, and I'm on a 35" scale.
