Tired, annoying phrases

AGREED!!!!!!! my least favorite sayings

Someone at my school started using "Gucci" instead of cool and it pisses me off so freaking much!

I don't advocate violence in most instances, but that definitely has to induce an uncontrollable desire to punch someone in the face if they were to say that as a synonym for "cool."

I work in construction and my boss's favorite line is "solid as a soup sandwich" he says it nearly 900 times a day.

Example: we finish a railing, he puts the level on it "solid as a soup sandwich!"

I bring him coffee "solid as a soup sandwich"

He digs a hole "solid as a soup sandwich"

I give him the measurements for something "solid as a soup sandwich"

I have to restrain myself from strangling him every time...

"To be honest" - so you're lying the rest of the time?

Most people are actually unwilling to say the truth to most people, because most people are easily annoyed/ insulted by it. So why not remarking something as a truth, when most conversations, especially with strangers, are completely hypocritical?

To me, the expression is a way to minimize the impact of the truth on an otherwise hypocritical/ superfluous (read: social) conversation. It is also a disclaimer, such as "I'm going to say something I really mean, and you shouldn't be butt hurt about it".

As for annoying phrases: I'll sound like a bitter guy, but pretty much anything related to people being hurt by a significant other. SO TIRED of hearing that crap on mainstream music lyrics!
