oh hell yes! That’s my all time favorite, although mine is a clone of a 200s cut in half.

If you like THAT tone and don't mind the weight, go for it!
Personally I can't stand the tone of Ampeg 810s. If I liked them I wouldn't mind the size/weight. They're actually easier to move around than many smaller cabs.

Buy it. There will at sometime in your ownership that you will say I’m not using anymore. Might take a bit but there will always be a buyer. Hell even the speakers selling each should recoup your $$. Also the easiest cab of “larger” cabs 4, 6, or… to move and load. Even a u tube clip on it too I heard
Where I live there’s Valentina’s and El Borrego do Oro and Rosita’s and there’s also Taco Bell.
I’m not saying Taco Bell is bad, just if I want a taco and you give me a binary choice between amazing and meh I’m gonna point my finger at amazing.

Anyone have first-hand knowledge/experience with one of these?
I spotted this one, they're asking $500. 1600w rms or 3600w max
Taco Bell is where we usually stopped in the afternoon on the way home, stoned with the munchies after spending the day swimming and riding plastic saucer sleds down a giant sand dune at the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore in the late '80s.

fridge, and if you decide it's not for you for whatever reason, I tend to think you can easily recoup the funds

Yikes, I've never seen one. I bet it sounds fantastic, but probably weighs more than the Ampeg.
I wouldn't...but that's just because I'm old and my back hates me most days for sleeping weird.

If you just want to keep it as a Stationary Object you don't have to lug around on a regular basis, go for it. If you want something that sounds just as good and weighs a fraction as much, get a modern Class D amp with some lightweight neodymium speakers, like a Mesa D-800 and a couple Subway cabs. Your back will thank you and NOBODY but the tube-amp cork-sniffers will hear one iota of difference in a live band situation. That tube saturation everyone raves about only kicks in at crushing volume, and is easily reproduced at lower volumes using a tube driven pedal, or just a decent amp emulator. Full Meh.

Who wouldn't want a seven or eight-drawer bedroom/closet dresser that looks about like this?

Meh. I just hauled mine out of the basement, up a flight of stairs with about an inch of clearance with the hand rial. It was anything but fun.
