I will be going here today at 10:00 am texas time. I will play any basses possible. But I will also be reviewing them. So request what basses you want me to review and I'll spend a little extra time playing them.

Just Fyi, The 62 ri pbass sucks bad (or did the last time I went, something was funky with the neck) and of course I will be reviewing the Mike Dirnt pbass.

Edit: I am doing this because I believe that this store carries basses/gear that normal GCs don't so I want to give a review by a real person. And I will be using one of the 3 fender TV series amps with my normal EQing (bass 2, mids 10, treble 4 or 6)

Dirnt- Nothing less that amazing, awesome slap tone (yes slap), amazing pick tone and great finger tone. They all pretty much sounded the same as the bass has only one pickup (limited versatility) but they all sounded great. The neck was perfectly fat yet very fast. It only having the arm contours isn't really a problem. Way worth the $800 sticker price, IMO worth the $1000 it was going for a while back.

Hoppus-Sucked. Just a regular MIM pbass neck. The duncan QP sounded less meaty than my Squier Dirnt. It was rather heavy and didn't even really sound good, it nailed the pick tone but that's pretty much it. Not worth the $800 sticker price. If it was a squier and had just as good (if not better) quality for about $300, I'd jump on it.

Bello- Pretty cool bass. Only string through IIRC. Cool tone, and good hardware. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it doesn't have a pickup selector, just one vol and one tone. Idk what it goes for but I'd pay about $500 for it. (Edit: ) I'd pay $500 used, bout $650-700 new. Seeing the upgrades I would make, if it had the pup switch I'd say $800. Not what I would spend but I can see it runnin for that much. Prolly my 4th favorite behind: Hamilton, Dirnt, Roscoe Beck

Reggie Hamilton- Totally killer. By far the most versatile bass on the market. Amazing everything. And for me, as a punk player, it was able to whip out a sweet grindy rock tone, as well as a smooth slap tone. I think it goes for $1000, honestly it's worth $2500

Miller V- Ok at best. It sounds good. But has a really really floppy B string. And the blocks arn't pearl they are suppost to be vintage or something so they are like gold, unlike the miller IV. Not worth it, there are better Vers out ther.

@A-step: The neck was actually pretty pbassish, not like a normal jazz
@John W: It sounded pretty nice, I suspect they are the upgraded MIM pups, they looks/feel beat the sound 2 fold. Bass was worth $500-700, not $1000. (For reference, I'd say a MIA STD pbass is worth about $950-975)

Hamm Urge II-Nice. I played the open 'A' string (opening bassline for "we won't get fooled again") as the tube in the amp warmed up. It was totally sick (I did this on all of the basses as the tube warmed up but this one and the dirnt were the best), like something outta a movie. It had a cool tone but I didn't know what all the knobs did, that was my main complaint. Reach-age of the 24th fret wasn't easy but do-able. Over-all worth $900 for it, see it goin for $1250.

Edit:
By over-all worth it means: What the bass is worth in parts, playability, versatility, feel, hardware quality, and then subtract mods you would do on it.

See it goin for: What the store's price (not MSRP) of the bass, to make profit. Seeing a lot of basses arn't worth every penny you spend on em. This bass is worth every penny only up to the $900 mark.

My bad. That's what I meant. The SR with the walnut finish is one of the best sounding basses out there.

I meant worth the sticker price on the dirnt and hamilton and I meant I'd pay the sticker price on the SR and Roscoe

Here is a mini review on the bailey 6 fretless:

Tight B, low action, great tone and narrowish spacing. I got lost a bit just cause I only play 4bangers. The spacing seemed pretty narrow but I don't know much about 6ers. Cool having the higher string, fun tapping 4ths and then sliding or whatever. I say about $1500-17500, as I don't know the price.


This was just to bump the thread and tonight I've been testing my brother's old wii he hust gave to me. So no more reviews but I'll answer any quick questions.
