Too much Maple?

Yeah, unless you plan to keep it, or have Fodera refinish it at the factory I'd leave it alone.

It'd look killer in dragon burst though. It'll just kill the already somewhat lackluster (compared to retail) resale value.

I think it would look better with the pickup covers and ramp a dark colour. I would keep the rest. It reminds me of my Brute which is nearly all light colors except the pickguard edges.

i'd uncover the pups and knobs ... i think those small black accents would help show off and break up the wood a bit ... !?! gotta love maple , ... especialy AAAAA curly

I would try just putting black strings on 'er... That would probably add enough contrast to make it more interesting.

I like the body as is. If it were me I'd get black pickups and knobs, maybe black block inlay stickers on the fretboard.

I think it looks fine, personally. But like said above, uncovering the pickps and getting black knobs will make a huge difference.

My fretted Elfin 5 has a walnut body with a cool birdseye maple top.

How you perceive your instrument is highly personal. That being said, your bass is shockingly monochromatic. Having darker accents like knobs or pickups would improve asteics. Or you wear an all white jump suit while playing it, it'll be like '70's Devo .

Perhaps a transparent-black finish on the body? You would have popular black-and-maple scheme, while still displaying, or even enhancing, the top's figuring.

I really think its the pickup covers and the ramp in between, id go with black covers and a wood color for the ramp that is as dark as the headstock color

Recently I received this bass and absolutely love the build qaulity, tone, and playability. I am finding myself feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the Maple and am thinking of having the bass refinished. What do you guys think?

I like a little more contrast, that body wood would look really nice to me with some colored stain. Maybe some fretboard inlay stickers to see what that does to it? They look surprisingly good if done well.
