Too much Maple?

AND no such thing as too much Mesa M6 Carbine A 410 and a 212 ? WOW !! The Mesa M6 is Godly. Your bass looks fine. Once you strap it on and start playing, it won't look like it's all yellow. It will look just fine.

weird lighting as it's not yellow (its a maple body with clear gloss finish)

It looks pretty nice, but the different maples conflict each other, especially the pups. If the fretboard was ebony, and the two 'outer' pups were ebony, and the pickups were a different wood, maybe a darker wood like wenge or bubinga, that'd look pretty nice.

Unless you are in a tribute band trying to capture the full experience of the original group, that is just stupid to say you can't use that bass. Have whoever said that buy you a bass and then you can keep your maple one

I was hired by a Country artist signed to Sony. His single will be on the radio nation wide starting Monday and we have fly dates booked all over. For what they are paying me, I'll gladly get a different ax

haha..gotta love those country gigs. Well a lot of those bands have gotten more open minded towards 5 and 6 strings, but I guess progress takes a while.

That bass is definitely a fusion/jazz looking thing, but I could see a modern country hired gun getting away with it if he has the resume. If its your first big country gig, go conservative. Get a 5 string Lakland or Sadowksy.

Im curious how much this thing costs, ill have to go look at your ad.

Asking $3600 which is what I have into it. Considering what it is, this is a great deal imho.

The first country band I was in , back in the mid '70s, I had to wear the whole outfit, cowboy hat, boots, jeans . When we were playing at some bar my fellow hippie musicians came in to see me. They were all cracking jokes , and one of them came up to me and asked why I was playing with that band, and I looked him square in the eye and said "because I'm working and you aren't" You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes . That is wonderful. I am impressed. May I ask how much went into the materials for it? I noticed in yuor build thread that JIO was right there--he really knows what he is doing also. Wow--you two-------good good stuff. Must be a joy to play with the pickups you chose!
