I have been a JC gear nut for 15years and the other day was the first time i have ever seen the pic. I know the "round-a-bout" year this was taken by what is and what isnt on his board in the pic.
Chancellor is pretty open to share info about his gear. At the recent Tool Music Clinic he and Jones were very forth coming about providing info of their gear and equipment. Not a lot has changed drastically so the pic is a pretty good reference point

Yes they are open about their gear...which is very cool. The "trolling" part was that he purposely posted an unrealeased photo (one posted above) to make people think he was in the studio (recently) ...mean while the picture is 12 years old.
As far as your list of effects goes.
-Foxx Fuzz Wah is gone and replaced by 2 mini crybaby wahs (joined together with a footplate)
-MXR Bass octive is gone
...and he now has an Ernie Ball vol pedal plugged in prior to going into the tuner

I've never seen that picture before either, what is that "Tube direct" DI box he has laying on his board there?
update 3: And is that an Ampeg 8x10 on the left of the photo? i've never owned one but that looks like the same porting/construction and would probably be a safe bet to have living in a studio.
update 1: There is the "VTDB-2B Tube Direct Box," which looks like a pretty similar construction but Justin's has a lot more print on it.

Timmy C has been doing that for years. Do you know why they do that? Run 2 105q's together like that? Does it just make it that much more pronounced or is it something else?
My guess is that Justin had the Wah "circuit" removed in one of them and replaced with a fuzz. AFAIN he only uses it for The Pot (near the end). It has replaced his vintage Foxx Fuzz Wah.
Timmy C has each wah going to a different amp. Bolting together garuntees they sweep together.
You could do it in series too, and yes, more pronounced. In parallel you get to wah your different effects chains, or your clean tone separate from your driven.

Ah yeah, that makes total sense. I dig that idea. I need to start messing with stereo/biamping rigs more. I've never really done it and have wanted to for a while.
Is the Wal still the main bass? He seemed pretty happy about the Warwick at NAMM.
I'm hoping he does indeed use it on the upcoming album. I'd like to hear what he coaxes out of the Warwick. He's been using his Wal's live as recent as last month. But, I'm curious about this as well in regards to how he integrates the Warwick into his Tool setup, since he has such a signature tone. In my experience Warwick responds very different from Wal basses, and most basses, so it takes a lot to keep tone consistent and frequency response when using the same pedals, effects, rigs. Tool have been tuning down on some songs when playing live since Maynard's voice is now lower pitched, so if Tool are using lower tunings on the upcoming album Warwick basses sing and cut though the mix great. Either way I'm really looking forward to some more groundbreaking tones from JC

Im sure bass producers have been banging on his door for years, asking if they could make him a signature bass. As far as i know its a custom one off bass, made specifically for Justin and his "wishlist" as far as neck/nut thickness, neck profile etc etc. Im pretty sure they (Warwick) will not be selling a JC Signature Wick anytime soon. I know alot of Wick owners are wishing for it to happen. I would also "bet the farm" that it doesnt make anykind of apperance on the new Tool album either. It more suits M.T Void stuff, and i imagine he will use it on thier new album, with his vintage P. Justin has alot off basses not made by Wal, but has never used them for Tool.
AFAIN the only song live that is not tuned the same as the original is The Pot. Wals can easily handle down tuning, and now that Justin has had Wal make a duplicate Birdseye to back up his main one.....if needed for Maynard voice, im guessing they will be using that one.
Im wondereing where, or if you heard they will be using lower tunings than just drop D for the new album?
Edit: Just went to Warwicks website to make sure i wasnt "sticking my foot into my mouth" and for some reason out of the 125 artists they dont even list him. Wierd
