Top 3 players whose TONE you admire most...

Pino - on Nick Heyward, Joan Armatrading and David cuts
Jaco - on pretty much anything, but specifically on Joni Mitchell cuts (Don Juan's Reckless Daughter nails it for me)
T Bone Wolk - on the 'Live from Martha's Vineyard' album by Carly Simon

Then, there's Mike Visceglia, Paul S Denman and Mick Karn who could also be included...

Not to mention... okay, I'll stop ;)

Do you mean BOOTSYS tone...or the tone set forth by the various electronic "gimmickry" he uses? Can you say (as Bootsy has often said)..."if there ain't no Mutron...there ain't no Bootsy"? Perhaps an asterick on Bootsy giving equal credit to the engineers and mixers on his cuts for at LEAST a huge assist.
