Tort guard hate?

I had one of those CIJ Mustangs, and it is the look! My only thought, at the time, was that the tort was very dark and didn't have any movement to it. If you look at '60s Mustangs (and P basses) the tort on them was often lighter, and had a bit more depth/swirl/movement to the pattern.

Yeah, I thought the same thing but I’m just going to keep this one original except for the flats I put on it. I assume flats are what would have been used on it anyway.

Took me a while before I got an affinity for it, but when I bought an Affinity P (Baltic blue, RW board) that had a busted single ply white guard I thought a nice tortoise guard would go well with the RW neck.

Looked around and found a very nice one that is somewhat reddish. Been a convert ever since.

Now mother of toilet seat on the other hand...
