Totally amateur phone camera pics thread.

I brought this in 1987

after 32 years they weren't wrong I've just ordered another

I won't belabor the thread with a huge number of these, but @two fingers, I took the phone out of the Otter cover to get the lens closer to the apertures, and got some better results. The aperture of the kaleidoscope is recessed, so getting the phone to snug up to it as much as possible meant skewing the aim off-center. That led to some interesting compositions and effects though, so I wound up not minding that.

I also shot some video of several things through the T'scope, including an extreme close-up of my monitor. That made for some interesting effects. Here's a split-second sample of that, at a resolution the uploader will tolerate (at 720p, it's quite trippy):

So, now I just have to resist the urge to keep doing this. :smug:

:thumbsup:

@SteveCS , that's a very cool-looking hall!
Pity about the modern seats, though...wooden benches would suit better.:)

Aethetically I have to agree there. On the other hand, I went to a recital by my daughter's orchestra at nearby Romsey Abbey last year. We were a bit late in and ended up on a 200 year old oak bench at the back. Mozart's Requiem and Shostakovich 10 felt very long that night!!

@SteveCS , I can sympathise.
I once dragged my family to an opera in the Verona Amphitheatre.
4 1/2 hours on stone seating, an unusually cold night, they'd run out of cushions and we were dressed for a summer day so no coats or sweaters we could've used.
Also, there was no elephants. For some reason we'd been expecting elephants.

None of us has attended an opera since.

A pic from last of the wildly cluttered jam space for one of my projects. Yes, that's cheat tape on my pedal steel. Still need help for those odd chords like C#m7!
