Hello, I'm back!
Enjoy some pics from Puglia, southeasternmost region of Italy:
Torre Lapillo, just outside Porto Cesareo, one of the places with the most beautiful sea in Italy; the beach of Pizzomunno in Vieste; the typical houses of Alberobello, called "trulli".
There is a nice legend about Pizzomunno, the white monolith standing before the beach: it used to be a handsome fisherman, for whom the sirens living in the nearby waters would rise out of the water and sing. He would go and gaze at the moon over the sea every night with her beloved girl, Cristalda. One night the jealous sirens kidnapped the girl and she was never to be found. Pizzomunno was so desperate and in pain that he turned into a giant rock...and he will wait forever the return of her girl.
Or something like that.
EDIT: a version of the legend says that Cristalda would return for one night every 100 years to spend the night with his beloved Pizzomunno.
