Not quite the Hogwarts tree, but this 40 ft giant was right at southeastern corner of my building. During the storm, all the winds were from the SE ! Thankfully, he's holding strong for now.

That's a Sweet Gum tree and this looks like prior to the ball drop. Apparently, you cap tap these like a Maple and get syrup.

The pic of the camera is the only one that's from a phone camera. The others are from the camera in the pic - a Sony FD Mavica MVC-FD75. The photos from it aren't nearly as sharp as the ones from pretty much any cell phone today (mine is a very basic ZTE Avid 579), but they have an interesting texture. The filters are really easy to use...the first pic has no filter applied; after that, the filters used are titled "Neg. Art," "Sepia," "B&W," and "Solarize," which is basically a crude, non-adjustable saturation. I know today's phone cameras have many more sophisticated filter options, but I'd never use them. I was going to sell this Sony Mavica on eBay, but I think I'll keep it. It's just different enough to keep, and I happen to have a floppy disk and drive that's compatible with my laptop.

Our local creek after the current storms.
There's usually somewhere between 2" and 6" of water here.
If you look toward the back you'll see a drainage pipe, it's about a 12" pipe, and the water level usually is about 8 feet (maybe 10?) below that.
It's pretty amazing.
