Totally amateur recordings thread

Thank J-Mags, It's just that... well, even with playing bass, I see and hear other talented people do stuff I can not fathom me doing. The big thing for me is the enjoyment I get from being creative.
BTW, I am shy about my singing (if you could call it that) so I brought in Dennis Jones to do out "of my life".

I don't think I could ever have sung this one! This thread gives me an opportunity to throw stuff out and not be to embarrassed. Gees, everyone else's contributions make me jealous that they sound so good.

Hey, no worries, just keep doing what you're good at and enjoy, and try to stretch your boundaries a bit occasionally, and you'll make progress.

Like @bholder said, it's all about just being creative. Several of my tracks are me just goofing around. Have fun and enjoy the process!

Here's one I wrote decades ago and later recorded. Can you tell I love harmony lead guitars?

Yeah just keep at it and see where it goes. I often make just these little 1 minute "songlets" that are just capturing little riffs or moods I came up with - often times the ones I didn't think much of at the time are the best ones, in retrospective. Haven't been doing it much at all lately, have to clean up and overhaul my recording setup, my den office room has just gotten too cluttered and the wires are in a big buzz-inducing tangle under the desk.

Man...that is some feel-good '80s pop/rock right there!

And I'm not being "ironic" or sarcastic at all. That's a really good sound!

Well I spent this morning trying to learn Reaper and record a bossa nova beat track - couldn't find one I like, so I tried combining one from my beatbuddy and my Zoom B3n (has the clave part I want) and came up with this (added a bass line from my "You Ain't The Bossa Me" riff except on bass instead of contrabass clarinet, will add a lead later...

Here's my latest, cross posted from my NGD thread:

Fingerpicking and timing are sloppy, as usual, and Reaper is driving me mad - most obtuse UI ever!
